Rainforest Ruins

Greetings, travellers! Among the ansient, lush, tropical woods lies the Rainforest Ruin, an old, destroyed temple of unknown gods. The ancient place is filled with traps - both man-made and various environmental hazards. Serpents and other reptiles tend to be quite aggressive in the surrounding forests so better wear long shoes!

The map will do well as an entrance to a larger adventure about exploring forgotten places and pillaging their treasuries. The terrain might create some unique and interesting encounter opportunities.

Update your map, pick up a strong rope, buckle up and venture into the Rainforest Ruin!

Adventure hooks ideas:

-In the deep southern jungle there used to be a great, marvelous city. Alas, the cradle of civilization got destroyed by a monster raid. The ruins are still full of gold, useless for the beasts, so it might be a good target for an adventure... If not for the swarms of wild creatures protecting the place.

-As you stroll through a well known path in the local forest you notice an odd vibration in the air. The atmosphere densens and, as you tread forward, the surroundings slowly start to morph into a more vibrant, wetter terrain. The birches and oaks turn into huge baobabs, the little streams turn into mighty rivers. And finally a little cavern, that you have known from the earliest days turned into a mysterious, giant temple...

-You are the last guardians of the fallen city of Umk. The royals turned into an endless slumber, the common folk got killed or fled. The only thing that keeps the kingdom alive is the old, noble dragon, the fallen castle and you - it's immortal guards. Yet, for a few weeks there are new folks in the woods. Armed with strange, firey wands, wearing heavy, plated armors and killing everyone in their way. This may be your last stand... Or maybe you will figure out a way to fend them off and protect your dearest dragon.
