Underground Arena

While travelling underground, the team may come across aggressive goblins who kidnap their victims and force them to fight in the arena. Such underground arenas are a place of spectacular death and life fighting - the fighters know that even the winners cannot count on being released...

"Underground Arena" [30x30] has 2 map variants (plus grid, no-grid, JPG, PNG and PDF versions, ready for Roll20, Foundry or your favourite VTT platform).

You and your friends are tied up, the goblins weren’t very brutal, but there’s no point in waiting for food or water, so you have to sit in the pitch-black room.

After a while a hobgoblin comes with the torch and throws you your weapons.

- Prisoners. To fight later. Pripar, eat, drink, later more fight.

He spoke with the raspy voice, and then left locking the room again.

- So… Do they want us to fight here? Or what, I don’t understand! - said the dwarf.

But his doubts were cleared in a second, with a sound of the crates going up.

You see the circular area carved in the rock, the crowd of goblins and other monsters is going wild when they finally see your party.

A huge bear is chained in the center of the pit and two small green creatures set it free right at the moment when you and your friends jumped to your feet.

- Me people has fun tonight! We capture human, elf, dwarf and the bear, so they fight to death! - The king of the goblins was shouting loudly in broken common, so you were able to understand him. Of course a single bear is not very dangerous, but you have no idea what’s coming next.

There was a fight after fight, bears, huge rats, bats, even some goblins decided to jump into the pit. You were able to finish them all, but the king was still throwing more and more enemies. You had short breaks in between, but it wasn’t enough to rest.

Finally, the crowd went silent and they let the king speak again.

- Me bored, so last fight tonight! New champions fight with old champions! Brrring the party!

And after those words you saw a bunch of people going out to the area. They were looking fine, but the lack of hope in their eyes was depressing.

- So one party has to die, right? Will you let us go if we win? - the man said.

And when you hear it, the elf from your side did something incredibly stupid and brave in the same - he took the javelin and tossed it right into the goblin’s king chest.

If we cannot help us, who will? And that’s how the great escape began!
