The future of my Patreon
Added 2021-06-01 19:09:15 +0000 UTCLately I've been very unsure about my Patreon, and at the moment I honestly think it's not worth pursuing it anymore.
For the past few months my Patron count stagnated around the mark of 30 people. And now that number is going down. And I honestly can see why people are losing interest. I'm not really posting anything that's exclusive to Patreon, with the exception of the occasional sketch here and there.
Personally I think Patreon isn't really worth it, if you don't have some sort of passion project. Or unless you're a person who just creates alot of stuff naturally. I'm unfortunately neither of those two.
Everything that I post, is all I draw basically. Adding to that, I'm generally not really fast at drawing either.
Every drawing I make is basically atleast a 2 day deal, even for just sketches.
So everything I can really offer is early access to my art. And even that doesn't work really well when dealing with commissions. Since the clients usually post the finished piece, in full resolution right after I finish them anyway.
But I also can't just exclusively focus on Patreon, since I still gotta earn my money somehow.
So, I decided to pause the next billing cycle for now. I need some time to think what I want to do with this Patreon.
For now my mind is mostly set on just closing it and focusing on commissions. But maybe I'll come up with something else in the meantime.
