Finished rereading Jurassic Park after seeing this, and, like, an HBO show that more faithfully adapts it would be amazing. In the novel John Hammond is a greedy, manipulative billionaire who attacks anyone who criticizes him, abuses, overworks, and underpays his employees, and is willfully blind and recklessness in regards to the dangers of technology his company creates. Ian Malcolm is an insufferable, preachy, doomsaying scientist in the vein of “antitheist” personalities like Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins. It’s very prescient re: the role of science, technology, and humanity’s impact on the environment.
