Holy fuck-knuckles, Tom! You’ve outdone yourself. Again. There is so much to comment on and I’m worried my ramblings aren’t going to convey to you how much I really loved this. I remember when you released When We Found Us and I absolutely loved it!! The combination of the plot, all of your sound editing, plus the length of the audio…it was like listening to a movie and I could picture every moment in my head. I honestly couldn’t stop listening to it. If When We Found Us was your first major motion picture release, then Finding Dallas is definitely your IMAX 3D summer blockbuster. No question. If you had sat down and explained how you were going to layer this story and jump around inside it, I would have thought it sounded way too difficult to follow and something you definitely should NOT do. LOL This is a perfect example of why I work in Clinical Trials and you’re the Artist. You really nailed it, Tom. It’s a testament to not only how awesome you are editing/producing, but also how amazingly well written the story is. I liked your approach to the professor/student theme. I know on discord it was discussed how (for some people) that particular power dynamic has the potential to be squicky, but I loved the way you introduced their relationship to us. Listening to Dallas talk about how he drove himself crazy trying to figure out whether or not she smiled and winked at him in class was so cute and I laughed out loud at the image of him hustling out of the parking garage when he heard her voice around the corner. These moments made me smile despite the Cloverfield x War of the Worlds type of screaming / sirens / panic going on in the background. It is evident how hard you worked to perfect Dallas’ accent and once again you have created a character whose life (whose lives?), past, present and future, I am already emotionally invested in. (This is the first time I’ve cried continuously through an audio, INCLUDING during the NSFW part…and I know I’m not the only one who did LOL) His desperate pleas of “please let me remember”, broke my heart. I think part of what makes this audio so emotional is that so many of us can relate, in some capacity, to losing someone we love and we know how tightly we hold on to our memories of them…hoping to God they don’t fade. Whether it is romantic love, familial love or the loss of a dear friend, it doesn’t matter. Losing someone you love fucking hurts. Period. As Dallas says, “if I can’t be with you, I at least want to remember you”. I loved the use of Dallas as a Professor to explain in more detail dimensions, galaxies, planes, etc. Ohh! I recognized the galaxy music from Purpose (aka: the I-made-out-with-Barnabas-and-it-was-so-hot-we-created-a-galaxy music) LOL It was perfect here. The meeting with Redd Maddock was a leaning forward, edge of your seat experience. I loved Dallas here and I was super happy that told Redd to shove it and of course to hear that he “won’t kill yer Nan” even if he’s asked to. I can’t wait to see what’s next and I hope we eventually follow Dallas down to the old safe house by the docks and get to hear that rendezvous. Keep doing whatever it is you’re doing, Tom…because to me, this was absolutely perfect. 🌷

Cześć Tom,
I have spent time in other comments talking about how satisfying it is to be at the point as a patron where The Continuum has expanded enough so that events, people and places are able to weave and intersect. And I happily continue along here in the same vein. You definitely are achieving something exciting/satisfying here and I hope you recognize that! Your talent is a triumph. This has got to be the most tumultuous one yet, there’s a level of rawness to Dallas that while heartbreaking, is also powerful. His strength is no less present when he’s fighting to hold tight the memories of the listener than it is when he’s facing off with that asshole at the Initiative. I appreciated every single fricking ounce of emotion and energy you poured into all aspects of Dallas, if it was a pain in your ass to get this audio to where it is for us to all enjoy now, I’m sorry to say I’m glad that it was, xD. There wasn’t a single moment in this audio where I wasn’t totally present… the writing, Tom! YOUR WRITING! :tombanlaid: I love how the sound used to move between scenes reminded me of a few things. Waves crashing in, drowning out everything. Blood rushing along in a doppler, or that heavy white noise it creates in your ears when you’ve stood up too fast, deafening you to anything other than its presence as you try to orient yourself again. That feeling of being overwhelmed holds a haunting beauty. It is almost as liberating as it is frightening, imo. That sound, worked so well with the droning siren and the emptiness of space. I was able to abandon myself to the experience of feeling everything in this audio.

And now, for the rambly bit: Alan Watts said “every moment is in a constant state of creation” and I’m just going to assign this mantra to Dallas in hopes that he won’t mind. The whole of life and every experience is always springing anew. There’s a comfort in that and I think Dallas knew that. It allowed him to embrace absolute presence. He mentions starting over and for whatever reason, I think at one point, he realizes that he was indeed in a moment where he had to relax and take it all in, pleasure and pain. As if all at once, it became obvious why anything/everything existed and why conscious beings had feelings in the first place. With the listener he was finally not intent on fighting or having to get somewhere specific with some other life, or a lecture or whatever in mind. He was alive simply to live. I loved it when he recognized the joy in his moments with her. All the why’s of space, planes, time, and even catastrophe were all, only second to her.
Dallas sharing his POV about time spent with the listener carved out—not just my heart lol—but a very tangible response to his confessing, proving, believing with every word spoken to (& about) her that love is a feeling we can experience but never explain. Even when faced with the prospect of memories being all he may ever have after the convergence, when he repeats “please let me remember”—such a charged phrase!—to himself, I believe that that’s just as powerful as him saying “I love you” to her. It’s further proof that it’s all or nothing here. The memories would serve to shield him from the pain of what may be to come.
In my head canon, he hears the strains of Burgh Island by Ben Howard playing whenever he thinks of her *sighs*
I am excited for what’s next, can’t even freaking imagine what’s next! And as always, thank you for your time, craft and effort proving that art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

Okay Mr Banter, was there a reason to emotionally hurt me? This was wonderful and I love the world theme when it comes to stories. The audio in the background right at the end with the people (trying not to spoil) was just *chef's kiss*. I want to cuddle Dallas so much because he made prgress and then .... TOM you hurt your listeners haha But I loved this.
