Ramble

Hi everybody. It's been a while since my last ramble. It's a strange time right now as many of you are in cities that I know are easing up on masks, and things are feeling somewhat normal—whatever that means anymore. How is everybody?

Whether you are new here or not, I'd like to do this right and give you a formal introduction. My name is Tom, and I am the principal showrunner at Tombanter Audio Productions. Our current project is the ongoing sci-fi, romance, action, comedy, fantasy, bi-monthly, pulp audio drama, The Continuum. This Patreon is a one-person show told in the 2nd person, so the characters are talking to you! There's a large cast of gentlemen from around the world; each one periodically gets featured in an audio.

These audios contain M/F pairings, as well as; I'm proud to say M/M, M/TM, and M/A pairings. It's a serial that no matter who you are, you can step into the shoes of a character and enjoy the epic.

I also make comfort audio, sleep aids, and other one-shot and mini-series that are not Continuum related.

I am the director, producer, writer, talent, and editor for these audios. I have been a working artist and filmmaker for many years, and this adventure is an extension of that. I do this as my living. I am all those things, but I also distribute; I'm the graphic designing, PR, and interactive principle. I host regular TV binge nights Monday Movie Matinees on Tuesday. I stream myself live on Twitch every Tuesday and Wednesday evening. I'm also in charge of my business housekeeping, Patreon tech support, and ultimately the Discord community support. I don't have a PA, but that would be cool! I can't afford one, in any case.

I try my best to put systems in place so that issues can be addressed in a way that can disrupt my schedule the least while also ensuring that everyone gets the best possible solutions—and I am ultimately here at Patreon for you to message, I always will be.

Thank you so much for being patient about our new tiers! I am aware that we are having a problem with access. This error is my fault. Before I put the new Tiers into place, the only way Patreon has to restrict access is to select the Tiers that have access to that content manually. Of course, once I created our three new tiers, they didn't have access to those audios despite being a higher tier than the minimum required for access. I will be combing through every post from now to the beginning to ensure everyone who needs access receives it! Thank you for being so patient!

Also, thank you so much for your patience with those who have audio downloads and personalized audios to redeem. These are archival and personalized content I need to fit in between my monthly deliverables, so please bear with me a little longer, and I will get to work on those!

OK. This next part is for Discord: If something you don't feel comfortable with, please send a help ticket. When no problems are reported, and then suddenly I catch wind of issues that as far as I can tell, don't exist—that makes it hard for me to help anybody. So please be in the habit of alerting the helpdesk, even if you're telling them, "this is not an issue that needs to be fixed; I just want to draw your attention to this" that would do wonders!

I do a lot. I don't want to pull the "I'm too busy" card because I will never be too busy to listen to any of you. But when we don't follow protocols, my life becomes so much harder. I put systems in place for a reason. I don't work the insane hours I used to—I don't work seven days a week from 9a-3a. But I still put in 14, 15, 16 hour days regularly. Please help me out and use the tools I've provided for you.

If you send me a message here, I will always address it. I will respond to you personally—that's something I silently agree to do for you as soon as you become my patron. I'm just asking everyone, and I stress everyone, I am not excluding anyone; stick to the protocols.

I am at a weird part of my process where writing is hard, and improv is hard, but then I'm suddenly struck with inspiration. It's annoying and nerve-wracking! I wish I could be more consistent with my process, but this is what I have! I think my goals are to introduce my final speaking character for now and then fill in everyone's story as linearly as possible. …But no promises!

My voice has been straining for a while. Some of you might have noticed, some of you not. I know many of you are here from YouTube, and welcome! I'm excited you're here. If you know me from there, you probably haven't noticed what I'm talking about. I've corrected a chronic dehydration issue that's helping, so I am hopeful for that.

We do an enjoyable thing on Monday nights. I pick a TV show for us to watch (usually a short one), and we binge up to 6 episodes. We just finished Hannibal and Russian Doll; we're watching Maniac right now. Severance, Fleabag, From, I'll be adding those soon. We have fun reacting, and I'm there the whole time! The same thing happens on Tuesdays at 4 pm Eastern; we have a movie matinee. We just finished a Marvel run-up to Endgame and watched Wrath of Man and Nobody. I think Chopshop is tomorrow. It's just as fun.

So I think I'm going to stop the ramble here. This session wasn't so much a ramble as it was a… channel trailer. Hm. It wasn't my goal. But I love talking to you guys, so there's that. OK, be safe, guys.
