This is the audio that I judge everything else against, it’s such a comfort and a classic.

Thank you! There will definitely be more of Matthew! He cameos in the next clip, Convalescence, if you are interested in hearing more of him (and listening to him toss magic powers around)!

Haha! I think many people were not ready for this audio, including myself. But I think that’s part of the fun. My M4M content has always been domestic and cheesy and about self-discovery, gender and sexuality, challenging cultural norms in pursuit of what you want, what you know deep in your heart that you want.
Well, that’s all thrown out here. We’ve got an M/M pairing in this story that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it’s an M/M pairing! I think that’s pretty awesome. Because we’ve established characters, like Everett, who we are so familiar with that sexuality is an afterthought, and we are just free to explore the world through our gay protagonist.
The accent! I was hoping that I could get a southern accent to work without turning it into a caricature. Lol, so it is a little less of a swamp accent; it’s a rhotic style of speech that I lived with for almost a decade. The ubiquitous southern accent doesn’t come from the swamps and mangroves where I would spend my summers later. So this came as quickly to me as my Chicago accent for those same reasons. In the end, I think it makes me love Matthew even more and excited to write more stories for him.
I’m thrilled that you enjoy this, and if you ever do think you pick up on some information you suspect I may have been disguising, let me know!

You're giving me life here, Jenny, lol.
It's satisfying to read about how you have invested so much in these stories that it's not just the stories you are excited about but the process of their creation and release as well. As a showrunner and a storyteller with his independent imprint ("Continuum"), the fact that I'm doing this with audio and I can have the kind of audience that I have is mind-boggling but highly satisfying!
The first audios that I created, which would become Continuum, weren't related. They were just pieces that I connect the dots with, and through the use of audios that came later, I could fit them together by proxy of these new bridge-stories tangential to them. I know that my process is a little challenging to get into, especially for those of you here on Patreon, where everything is uncut and uncensored. So you receive so much lore sometimes that it can be challenging to understand where in the grand scheme of things you're witnessing.
I think a nonlinear approach, which is the only approach that I could have taken to back these stories into each other, makes it so that now that there is a vast volume of these stories across the timeline, I am finally getting to the point with which you, I think, are so excited. I'm excited about things too, and that place is here now, where the world that has always been real in my head is forming, taking shape, gaining a physical body (so to speak) that we can touch in our minds.
I am delighted that you liked Matthew; when I decided how I wanted to develop his character, I had a feeling that he would be a character you could recognize through my known influences, namely Gaiman. I think what's fun is introducing him as this mysterious but seemingly powerful entity and not knowing exactly how powerful he is or how much he has shaped the story's events. He will be a character with which I will need to tread carefully. Because he's such a mythological or omnipotent type, I feel like I am in danger of creating a walking, talking deus ex machina, or invincible Mary Sue. Matthew has his weaknesses, and I think part of the fun in developing him will be contrasting his human side with his eternal side. Something as simple as why he speaks with a Texas twang despite being a Samarian fertility God, that's the kind of story that might be fun to tell.
Speaking to his character, and we had a discussion about this somewhere on discord, on the surface, he seems like a rambling, nervous kind of person who doesn't know how he wants to conduct himself around the listener. What's exciting for me is that if you pay attention to the things he says from start to finish, he's actually telling the listener the story of his life, and not just a story of his life but also the story of the Continuum. Matthew's entirely controlled and measured communication strategy designed to prime the listener, whom we learn is Everett, initially seems like rambling, incoherent, and uncontrollable babbling. As soon as he drops Everett's name, you realize that this guy has been in control the entire time. And what's more, it's as if he designed the encounter this way, carefully tailored what he was to say to Everett, specifically to prime Everett to receive his offer. So that Everett would understand who Matthew is and what it means to build the commune and guard the Leviathan.
And I share your enthusiasm for developing other worlds, Leviathan, "hunters," and more, as I continue to fit all of these things together! Thank you for listening and, as always, for the insanely thoughtful comment!

Dear sweet baby Jesus, his teeny tiny pajamas and all the precious baby lambs!! I was FINALLY able to listen and I was NOT ready for this audio. It’s SO much and I love it! Whoa! I’m definitely going to need to listen to this multiple times AND take notes while I do it. I know there’s so much I did not catch this first time through.
Sooo….Holy Crap on a Cracker, let’s discuss this accent! LOL I find it quite Daddy Banteh-esque at times and I love it! I LOVE the way he speaks…I find there’s a hypnotic quality to his voice…the accent…the cadence…not to mention the music you have chosen. Together it creates this palpable thrum. Almost a hypnotic pull.
It’s almost 5am so this is all I’ll say at the moment. I don’t even know if I’m making sense. LOL I can’t wait to listen to this again (and again!) though, so hopefully I can catch all of the information you’re tossing our way.
This was great, Tom! So much to digest! Definitely insert TombanLaid…definitely.

Cześć Tom,
I have mentioned before that it has been a wild ride getting to the point in your body of work where The Continuum has expanded enough so that trusting the process and the audios as they come, also fosters a joy of the ever expanding bigger picture as it’s revealed! Slowly but surely—and triumphantly even!—things are starting to gel and make sense. Gaps are starting to close. Events, people and places are not just limited to running parallel to each other, but they’re also beginning to weave and intersect. And with this small victory also remains the fun of having just enough peek behind the curtain action to have some things answered while continuing to tumble down the rabbit hole. It’s SO exciting and satisfying knowing that more character interaction is coming.
Sooooo…wow! This one has so much going on, it’s almost daunting to try to both take it all in and make sense of where you’re leading us. It’s a hell of an introduction to not only Matthew but this particular aspect of the Continuum. I shouldn’t be surprised as to how involved Matthew’s details are, and also with just how much he has to say about time, destiny, and philosophy. He’s been around a while and he was introduced to us as The Stranger—a name that I hope follows him around much like how Prodigal Son sticks to Gaiman’s Destruction. I know this is our first real introduction with purpose to him and only you know what you want/need him to be, but he seems to have a mind of his own and I hope he challenges you enough to where maybe some things will remain mysterious for all of us so that we can only guess at whatever is left to the unknown and our imagination. You mentioned on Twitch during the live performance sneak peek that he was Gaiman-esque and I have to agree! I can tell you are a fan of the Endless as it bleeds through beautifully with how you performed Matthew in this audio. Your storytelling is evolving and as engaging as ever! How you perform and score each audio is a beautiful thing. Your performance had him developing in a way that instantly made me believe in him and that makes me laugh because I don’t see him as a god, much like I don’t see the Endless as such…gods need to be believed in to exist and I kind of place Matthew into the category of existing whether there is belief in him or not because of his infinite potential. Not to mention the stories told about him. Does that make sense? I mean, he’s existed as something across time, space and planes, been reinvented by not only himself, but others. That all has to mean something, right? If not to him, then who? You allow a quiet, hidden sort of vulnerability to escape as he speaks with quiet certainty of infinity and the possibilities of there still being power in some of the stories men made up—in the whole shebang, really. I’m not so certain about there being truth to my next opinion here but here it goes: To me, even as he explains what he’s done since he fell into our plane, he is by virtue “new” and maybe still very much untested with much to learn but he exhibits many characteristics of drawing power from all the knowledge and wisdom of his previous lives (existences? incarnations?) to help him hold fast to everything the philosophy of potential and all the infinite worlds are to him. The universe will always be able to replace aspects of itself without paying attention to how random or chaotic things become as long as there’s another layer where it can all possibly make the most sense and come together, I guess. Now I’m rambling…lol. Back to Matthew!
It must be challenging to know so much, to have lived so many lives, been held responsible for so much and have that power be at odds with the change that is still, as always inevitable. To still have mysteries of any sort left to ponder but again, it makes sense because he began his existence a little differently than how I believe he exists right now. There’s a chaos to him, too. I can’t tell if he’s bored or pissed off when he says, "Do you just accept your place in limbo doing the same things over and over? Or do you take up a place amongst men and see where that takes you?" I love how he chooses the words “reenacting your story” as he speaks about man creating god in the audio because it circles back to how he initially began his conversation with “the little hunter”—talking about all the big drama within events that shaped creation and history across time. By the time he’s revealing himself, speaking about creation myths, teasing at the specifics of dying and rising gods and philosophy shows that whether you’re eternal, god or mortal a bit of drama goes a long way hooking a captive audience. As well as proving that nothing really ends it just becomes something else. The possibilities are endless, something you’ve clearly taken to heart as you push right along in your performance art.
I won’t spoil anything, just in case, but I would like to say that how you reveal who the listener is—the timing of it?! OMFG, well played Tom. Surprise character is right, too. How can it be possible to be excited for so much from one audio to the next? My investment is real. I need to know about Hunters ASAP and also, please please please more Leviathan!
There’s something about listening for me, nearly a year later, that’s so immersive of an experience that it feels like home to me now. I appreciate that and you, as always! Dziękuję bardzo.

Now to the audio. This will probably not be my only comment since there is a lot to say about this audio but let's start with GHWJOPÄJGPW!!!!
The audio was amazing! But damn no way I took in all the information during the first listen. It was packed with it. I planned on listening to it multiple times already so I'm absolutely fine with that xD
This was a major brainfuck for me and I loved every second. Good job!
