There’s also a through line from the slightly shy, geeky boy from “Momentum” when talking about his boner. I also really love the listener because she’s just making the most of the situation, despite however ephemeral it may be. They enjoy each other for what the moment is. It’s not complicated. And she still stands her ground and meets him where he’s at. (Btw, her plan would have totally worked.) The music you chose for the brunt of the ~action~ had an atmospheric quality that was a respite from what’s going on outside the server closet. A “lost in each other/moment ” vibe. And you know I love the action!action aftercare, the score in particular. Thank you for not only making it very Alias-y, but getting it within that 47 minute mark. I see you.

It’s got my fave spy tropes (and yeah, some of my favorite other things too). It’s fun. It’s hot. The casual nature of the encounter also feels more accessible in regards to the lore and it isn’t mired in emotional heaviness, which isn’t inherently a bad thing, but it sometimes can get in way of a revisit. This also feels like a proper spiritual successor to E&C (and yes, of course I caught those lines) especially in terms of Barnes’ characterization. It helps that you retconned/properly gave him a “new” middle name- it sets it apart from the old. But some key hallmarks of that old interrogator are still there. In the spirit of the convention you’ve attributed to him, there’s a conservation of energy displayed here from that audio in this one. He’s still confident, cocky even. He’s still a man who seems the most himself in the field, in the moment, in the action. Also, he still likes the proper medical terminology when doin’ it, nice.

Maybe it’s the sniffing, the breathing, the attempt and failing at restraint, and the way you say the words almost sounds like purring or growling (idk the best way I can describe it is it sounds like the words are rolling off the back of your throat).
