2021-05-05 23:24:44 +0000 UTCI have to say, I’m torn on the face reveal thing, for an odd reason, and in an odd way. I, personally, don’t care what people look like. I’m pretty ick myself (not a sympathy plea, just genuine honesty, and I fully accept that I’m far from a supermodel lmao), so I’ve learned not to judge people on their appearance. However, I have another reason for it. I also have what I refer to as ‘mild face blindness. To me, faces aren’t easily recognisable unless there’s something specific about them that I can focus on. For example, I have days when I literally don’t recognise my dad fully, and the main reason I do is his dark (he used to tan a *lot*) skin and large nose. Without those, the rest of his face wouldn’t ‘come together’. So to me, on one hand, a face reveal wouldn’t matter because I don’t imagine the creator when I listen, whether I know what they look like or not, mainly because any memory I have of their face is distorted as soon as I’m not listening to them. On the other hand, I would feel awkward if it were a ‘consistent’ thing, as in having video and having you in it the whole time, whether as a photo or you reading something. That isn’t a personal thing, but something to do with me. I’ve never felt comfortable watching people in video unless they’re goofing off or something. Vlogs, dramatic readings, documentaries, they all make me feel as if I should look away. For that reason, if you were visible, even in a thumbnail, I’d likely have to scroll away while listening. That isn’t meant to offend, btw. I’m like that with everyone (even my own girlfriend). Frankly, based on what I can piece together from your description, you sound quite handsome, in my opinion 😊 I’d love to see what you looked like, but it wouldn’t upset me not to. It’s all down to what you prefer. Neither choice would change my opinion or decisions whether to be here or not. I’m here because of your voice, your storytelling/ acting ability, your imagination, and your personality. Knowing your appearance or race or anything like that does not and will not factor into it 💖

I do have like a fantasy person in my brain when I listen to your audios, a celebrity (Dacre Montgomery 😬), who popped into my head when I first heard your audios because I swear you sound so much like him and it just stuck. He’s been the face I see when I listen to any of your audios. I need a face for the voice otherwise it doesn’t work for me, I don’t know if other people just see a faceless person or make up their own face or have their own specific celebrity? I honestly have no idea. But I’m sure I’ll be able to keep Dacre in my mind even after the reveal. See, in my mind, the Tom from the audios and the Tom I like to watch on Twitch are two completely separate people. I mean, duh. There’s the fictional fantasy and there’s the real person who I’ve been picturing as your avatars, your likeness. And after the reveal, it’ll be your real face I’ll see when I watch you on Twitch and the audios shall remain a fantasy. MY POINT IS the reveal won’t affect how I see things right now, I’m sure. Even if they do, who cares. 🤷♀️ Ride or die babbyyyyyy. ALSO, are you close with your cousins? Because I absolutely adore that. I grew up with my cousins living down the street, they’re literally my best friends till this day.

But at the same time I've been estranged from my mother for almost 20 years and know nothing of that side of the family and so don't feel much of a connection to china or central asia or SE asia. In that way i feel very much like a white boy who shared some of that monetary privilege (my appearance prevented me from any sort of social privilege). Thanks for the question Velvet!

She works at a bank and someone has hacked into the system and is seeking help. Turns out to be a spy who, in her head has a really posh accent. She has to help him get home safe and kinda falls for him during the process. We don't see what he looks like until the end. I always loved that movie because you got to know him before seeing him. It seemed to make getting to know him deeper some how. Just an idea.

If you are a straight up guy who's kind, funny and considerate of other people and who respects other people then that speaks volumes to me. I found you on Reddit, much like many others here. And I fell in love with your voice, your imagination (which I would kill for btw! cause I have none) and listening to your rambles and sitting in on your streams have given me a clear picture of what you look like. You is a guy who's experienced amazing things in your life and you've also dealt with extremely traumatic things that you've been honest about to your fans and that gives me great comfort, as an a domestic abuse survivor. It gives me and so many others support and a voice. I couldn't give a rats ass what you look like cause it doesn't matter. If people leave cause you want to show your face, then they weren't worth having as fans. If YOU want to show us what you look like then please do. But don't to it cause you fell like its what you need to do to keep us (the fans). We will not leave just because you did something you want to do.
