Development Update 17.01.2025

Hey all, welcome to this week's progress report.

Level: 
This week, we put additional work into the last missing cave and continued our efforts on the A-quality blockout for Adûn. The rest of the team focused on the final asset production for the Alpha Camp props, while Tech Art worked on supporting tools to speed up the process of populating the world with props and foliage.



Code:
On the sandbox side, we continued working on the camera filter system, which now has the ability to turn on additional pre-made post process shaders.
(The example pictures are Outline, CRT, Halftone and Night Vision)
We also started working on custom material support for Image Decal props, enabling decals with normal, roughness, metallic and emission information.



Character: 
This week, we have started a new casual modern outfit for our male characters, shirt, jeans and some sneakers. Additionally we are updating three further hairstyles visually to match our target quality. 



Animations: 
In the animation department, the Feral Bull enemy has now been put into the engine from the animation side and is ready for Game Design to give him a proper combat AI and fine tune all his movement values. We also continued our work on the weapon movesets for daggers and claws as well as the Max x Riv minigame, which will likely be a sweet campfire scene in the end.
Lastly, a good amount of new mocap data was implemented into the cutscenes. Half of the main story cutscenes are already implemented. 9 more to go there as well as 9 further scenes for side quests.



Design:
We worked on finishing up the final design of the UI screens, as well as cleaning up the HUD after the recent changes shipped with the December build. Additionally, we put time into thinking through the character progression, e.g. which attributes could come into play and how a possible perk system might look.
On the topic of combat we have started working on the design for various finisher moves.

Okay, so good for the map, code stuff is interesting, better with weapons, and yes! Finally something clothing wise that was needed.

Not sure if it was planned to be this way, but I noticed in the story, when you go to help the guy who turns feral, he ends up turning into an abomination of meshes. Everything is stretched out and no fur. I wish I took a screenshot, but I remember it vividly thinking that it didn't look right
