Having a Bad Day
Added 2019-10-04 15:41:03 +0000 UTCToday I did something stupid and mess up my computer real bad. And now I have no choice but to use my old retired computer which i gave to my mom long time ago.
It was a series of mistakes that lead me to this point. At first, I was simply trying upgrade my workplace's computer hardware. I propose to use a SSD so everyone could feel easier at work. My superior agree and leave the task to me. I thought that should be easy and bought one, but what I bought was incompatible with my workplace's old motherboard. I therefore I bought another one and used my own money for the incompatible product. However, as i brought it home, I found that although my motherboard can support this product, my motherboard had no room for it. (Darn it! I'm so regret to buy a M-ATX motherboard). Then I thought it might be a good time as any to upgrade my motherboard. So I bought a NT$5690 (About $190) motherboard, yet I can never get it to work. After carrying it to store for testing, the inspector conclude that it was my poor handling which accidentally damage both CPU and motherboard that cause the problem. He sent both back to the manufacturer for fixing and said since it was caused by human-error, repair fee would be necessary. The bill should arrive in one to two weeks and it probably need another week to finish fixing and deliver back to me. I therefore for the next 2-3 weeks cannot use my computer.
I can still use this old rusty computer for drawing, but it won't be nearly as easy. Oh, What a horrible day. ☹

To be honest, I'm pretty upset. I had been assembling my own PC since high school, but this is the first time I ever failed this bad. It is clear that I simply not experienced enough since I only upgrade my PC every 3-5 years, Good thing is that this failure would become a valuable lesson for my future's PC upgrading. I only hope it wouldn't be an expensive lesson.
