Lightning Ref Sheet

Gosh, sorry to surprise y'all with this instead of showing WIPs, but I did this all in one sitting without stopping! I'll be holding off on posting this tonight so you guys get first look instead. : )

Been wanting to re-design Lightning for a while. He's always been fun to draw, but I wanted something a bit different! My drawings of him may be a little inconsistent while I continue learn how to draw his new model, but hopefully that won't take long.

Hope everyone likes the new direction! It's just time to commit to Lightning's Hot Cowboy Daddy aesthetic, you know?

Lightning prefers to go by his barn name. The Barn Boss of the pleasure ranch, Lightning's job is to help manage employee schedules, oversee maintenance of the property, and resolve disputes.

Outranked only by ranch owner Kade and co-owner Mary-Anne, Lightning is also the highest-requested Dominant in the business due largely in part to his intimidating stature. Despite his austere aura, Lightning is a gentle and caring man, sensitive and empathetic to others' needs within a scene. This quality often attracts shy first-timers to the scene via word-of-mouth.

Although best known as a Dominant, Lightning is actually a Switch, and like Mary-Anne, is owned by Kade. Customers can enlist his services as either a Dominant or a Submissive. Lightning's rough, calloused hand is often compared to an oak paddle by the people he spanks.

Before coming to the ranch, Lightning lived as Ivan Doe, an insurance broker living in Las Vegas. He developed a gambling addiction to deal with his mid-life crisis, struggled to attend recovery meetings, and eventually met Kade at a blackjack table after being fired from his dead-end job.

Taken by Lightning's presence, Kade found the horse the next day and asked him to come to his ranch. Once there, Lightning was offered a job cultivating the ranch's main export -marijuana- to be paid in room & board. Lightning accepted. Over time, he developed his relationship with Kade and ranch co-owner Mary-Anne, and learned about their other life as BDSM practitioners.

Curious, the horse was taken under their wing, where he discovered a love for all kink. It wasn't long before Kade took him on as a prized pet, and shortly after, the three friends decided to spread their love of sexuality by re-modeling the barn and bunkhouses at the back of the property, and renting them out as a luxury, BDSM-themed BnB.

His newfound hobby filling him with inspiration and responsibility, Lightning did manage to overcome his gambling addiction by attending meetings and therapy. As time marched on, the ranch became a huge success, and the three original friends preside over a workforce in the double digits, all taking great pride in providing guests with the utmost care and service.

Lightning also offers his services as a sponsor and has several charges on the ranch. They are not always recovering addicts, but can also be general wayward or kindred spirits looking for guidance. Wishing to help inspire others as his friends have inspired him, he happily does his best to guide any who ask- as long as they are willing to put up with ranch work!
