The state of small biz & US tariffs

A letter specifically for my US customers:

So if you've been following the tariff situation in the US, you may be aware that parcels sent to the US might be taxed on import after August 29.

This of course affects my lil small biz since my main source of income is my online shop and many of my customers are in the US <3

At the moment, the details about how they are actually going to implement this still haven't been shared, despite this change coming into affect in just a couple weeks.

What does this means for happy mail?

If you are on the happy mail tier, this won't affect your happy mail at all. In the "worst case," I will send US mail with stamps again which will be processed as standard snail mail :)

What changes will happen in the online shop for US customers?

I plan to continue shipping to the US, but customers may need to pay import fees to receive their parcels if they arrive after August 29. This could be 15% of the order total, or on the extreme end, $80-200 per item.

I am looking into options of how to ship to the US so you can avoid these fees, and think I may have a solution... but please be aware that if you're in the US and order within the next couple of weeks, you may need to pay import fees during this limbo period </3

What about my pre-order?

Seagull caps and beige pigeon caps have already been shipped and should arrive to you before the end of the month. Black pigeon caps are on hold and if you have ordered one, please check your email since I have contacted you about exchanging the cap design for an alternate one to avoid fees.

For other pre-ordered items (mousepads and bread bags), I will contact US customers before shipping.

The whole situation is really frustrating since they still haven't said how they plan to actually implement the tariffs, and it's also very possible this changes next week. But here's the current state of things and I just wanted to keep you updated.
