Designing socks 6+ months in advance

I've been enjoying my time at home, cuddling with my cats and recharging after Dokomi and Stockholm Comic Con. It's also given me a lot of time to design new stuff that I'm super excited about - like these socks!

I've talked about this before, but designing products is a long process. When I first started working manufacturers, I was always so stressed because everything would come much later than expected due to design issues or simply shipping delays.

When I made everything at home, I could make stuff the week before a shop update. But when it comes to more complex items, like socks, I just can't make it myself (lol) and need to plan well in advance.

These days, I like starting designs at least 6 months in advance. This gives me time to make samples, make revisions, get the items produced and allow 1-2 months shipping time. Plus, they need to arrive early enough for me to take photos and market them before they actually become available.

So these socks are currently in the sampling process and are planned for 2026 (I know it's a long time from now).

But if there's a miracle and they can come for xmas, then I would definitely do it! However I don't want to rush anything because to make the best quality items, I've learned that patience is the key <3
