New NPC x Player Animations, Clothes, News - Devlog 11.11.2025

Hey, it's Sifa :D

The last time I showed you the Robot NPC that is going to be the Boss of the new update. And also I said that we tested the Combined animations (2 characters in one scene).

So, since then I was doing more animations :D

So, I did a bunch of "solo" animations for the Player. I won't show them, because it's just about common actions, like "surprise", "smile", "talk" and so on. Nothing special there. Though combined ones I would rly like to show, bcz these look great :D

NPC interactions

So, there will be 2 types of interactions. Most cards will trigger "solo" animations, which you can use across all the NPCs. While "combined" animations will be unique for each NPC. Sure, ordinary NPCs won't have many unique animations, just a few. But important NPCs will have quite a lot.

So talking about this particular Robot Boss, this one will have at least 10 different movements. Moreover, each move will be tied to his progression level. The higher the NPCs progress level - the more skills one gets. And all the upgrades will be visible on the enemy itself. Like here you can see one more device is being added.

Eventhough these animations are in the game already, I still haven't figured out how to record Gif right from Godot. So I record from Spine editor screen. Because of that drawing order is simple - one character is completely above another one. That's why the needle isn't actually inserted into the leg. While in the game it's rendered right so it seems like it's actually inserted into the flesh.

Animations x Transformation Compatibility

Also, I want to mention that in the game both of these devices (the mask and the syringe) aren't meant to change Player's behaviour. All the cards are in the player's hands :D
So it's all about the body transformation. After all, I'm making a TF game xD So that means that after these skills are triggered - your body will change. And all the changes are visible on the character and compatible to all the other animations!!!
(though maaaybe some rare clipping or missplacements are possible. I try to make it as perfect as possible, but without spending tons of time on that)

So as you can see, both of these animations do work and reflect changes in player's body and clothes :D Boobs are way bigger, butt and upper legs are bigger, penis is smaller. It's actually something that I always hoped to see in TF games. But I never found a game with such stuff. So here I am, doing my dream game xDD

I'm even starting to think that after Shuffle Me is complete, I would try to make a Sims-like game, but a 2D sidescroller. So basically a life-sim where you work, sleep, pay bills, meet friends and such. With such animated interactions, pretty characters, it would be a very cool game. But dreams aside. Anyway I need to finish Shuffle Me. At least I will have a lot of ready-to-use assets when I'm done here :D

Clothes and Colors

As you can see, I added shoes, pants (bottoms), and t-shirt (tops). So these are the clothing types I want to release the game with. I'm not sure I will add panties/bras/legwear for this release, because it will take some time, and I don't want to postpone the update more xD Though, I didn't want to add clothes at all, but already added some. So who knows, who knows.

Another thing you might have noticed is color. In all the animations the Avatar is mostly White.
Why?
You see, the reason is that we can paint the grayscale clothes right in the code in a very simple way. Recolors made this way aren't very cool. Just a plain color over the item, darker parts are darker, lighter parts are lighter. Quite boring. But still, it's better to have than not to have. Even if it's a placeholder.

More "advanced" recolors, that will include different colors in a single item, along with some "shape" changes, is in the process of creating. I don't know how many of these will be ready for the release. It's up to Elisabeth, our "tailor" artist xD

What's next

And as usual, few words about the next steps. So, I'm finishing interactions with the boss enemy. Then I have 4 more enemies ready to be animated. Though these will be quite simple, just few simple movements.

And that's basically all. Only polishing the balance and the game UI will be left. Because for now it's playable, but not very appealing xD
