Guys, I have an important question to ask. Ok, few questions π :
What is the best part in the battle system?
What is the worst part in the battle system?
What is the best part outside of the battle?
What is the worst part outside of the battle?
Example from me:
I think I like the synergy between cards the most. Especially powering up "double power" cards.
I don't like that stress and arousal don't do anything when they are maxed or minimized during the battle.
I like that I have an ability to choose in most events.
I don't like that events usually are not connected to each other. There are only a few events that can cause some consequences that are also quite simple.
It's important to think about "best" and "worst" stuff. Also, don't need to be short. It's not a problem to read long messages xD You can go beyond and write even more if you want
Why am I asking this? Well, I have some ideas, like removing sub/int/fit/att mana and use "arousal", "stress" and some other stats instead. So, e.g., you can't use Stress card when you are at max stress, or can't use Calm Down when you are at min stress. So you need to balance it. And some special cards might trigger when you're at max/min stress/arousal/etc. Also, I'm thinking about changing events in loops, make them more predictable and shorter. And most likely I gonna reduce the amount of clothes in v7, but will make "clothing transformations" system with wide angle of possible transformations. So we would have less clothes but more variations in total.
So anyway, I'd like to know what you guys think about the current build. You can comment right here, or go to community tab or join my discord and write something there.

2024-09-14 22:09:19 +0000 UTCI like a more in depth tutorial on the combat system as only thing could find is about what symbol mean but not much on how cost how many card can play and relation between stats and card.

2024-09-11 11:31:38 +0000 UTCHmmm. I see. It's an interesting sight, or not so obvious. I think I'm going to reduce random in the game, especially in some parts. It's to chaotic atm. I want people to understand what they can expect to face in the loop or in the battle, but inside the loop some randomization takes effect, and the same happens inside the battle. When you can predict - you can build. E.g. you know what events you gonna face in the loop, but you don't know their exact order, exact rewards, maybe there are some "hidden" events. The same about the battles. You see the person, you know what type of enemy it is, so you know what "skills" this enemy can use. But you don't know the order of skills or some skills are hidden. Something like that xD

2024-09-09 17:08:40 +0000 UTCOh right! In regards to the "mana" point, it did catch me off guard the first time I encountered it, a possible way to change/improve it would be allowing the use of other mana types in a 2:1 ratio or something

2024-09-09 07:11:07 +0000 UTCThe battle system isn't bad, the consistent interaction with some of the cards like getting rid of pain and/or ditzy cards is a fun interaction IMO One problem I see with it though is the possibility of getting stuck in a negative cycle of just not getting good cards against strong opponents and not having any of the Pure/Corruption stats to use on the more powerful cards, maybe put in a system to get permanent small alterations to the character for a draw 2 card or something IDK. The "overworld" seems kind of linear, which can be a good thing for some people but it takes away from the "rougelike" experience for me, I feel like even giving someone 2 choices that only tell you what general sort of thing you are going to encounter might not be a bad addition, but having a run go south because you just got bad luck and had 2-3 dead encounters right before the end just leaves a bad taste for me. Overall I'm enjoying the game, these are just a few things that stuck out keep up the good work!
