Jesus... I'll admit I didn't quite expect "skinning alive." Not against it in this instance, but damn, rhis is the first book I've had my hands shaking while reading. I needed a minute to process afterwords.

2026-03-13 00:45:43 +0000 UTCMan was not expecting that! Elijah has been brutal in the past but this was a step beyond that. It would be interesting to see how Sara and everyone else reacts. As far as making enemies goes I do think Elijah is underestimating a little of what they can do. His grove and Earth by extension are still vulnerable to outside interference. Prosperity will protect Elijah and hopefully that extends to his grove but we don’t what the protection is yet. Obviously it is protection against overt actions like if some transcendent or deity tries to smash Elijah. But what about more subtle means like helping his enemies on Earth or similar stuff.
