The relationship with Kaela is moving very, very quickly. Too fast in my opinion. I hope Cyran father isn't talking to Kaela's parents about an arranged marriage between them. That would be too predictable a plot. Like those 80's movies Elijah mentioned a few chapters ago.

At this level and when these individuals will become the future of the empire it would be naive to be anything else. Also do not forget that Elijah’s mother can sense anything happening in her domain. I am sure she is putting a finger on the scale of multiple interactions for the betterment of dragon kind. Remember these individuals will become the deities and transcendent maybe not today but eventually. Levels don’t matter. Maybe this is why Birk and Tura trained Miguel for this exact situation. Elijah to be free and have his grove protected for this tournament. So much investment has gone to get him here. He has a legacy to surpass many and change the political dynamic. Charlie Voice: “Wild Card!!!” Ooohh I’m so stoked for tomorrow.

2026-02-28 17:29:31 +0000 UTCI was going to say this tournament puts certain combat classes at a disadvantage. FOr instance rogue or ritualistic classes that need preparation. Rogues, illusionist, or leadership types are hindered. Hoping that this meeting between ELijah and the dragons yeilds rewards and a challenge, because we all know the only way Elijah grows is by itting his head against a wall. Also would like to see any older dragons who are trying to gain the first fang to maybe evolve.

But, the reference to an Ancestral World (Orveth Kaal) AND how Kaela's father expects all of the "kids" in the tournament to qualify suggests an opportunity to enter that world is approaching. And Cyran, being the young master type, definitely won't miss the "opportunity" to purge a "half-scale" and his slumming girlfriend.

2026-02-28 16:17:14 +0000 UTCThis chapter did, in my opinion, successfully establish that Kaela isn't a honey pot. Clearly her family’s ties to asshole inc show she'd be used differently. Although, it could perhaps be an attempt to move their family out of his orbit and into Kirlissa's.
