Brothers in Arms.

My oldest brother, the one living in Australia, has written a book about his memories of national service in 1959.
I read it all and it ended up becoming something of a comic book about British military life back then.
If you want to check it out: https://brammemoir.com
You might also recognize my fingerprint on the front cover design and on the photo of the author I shot 25 years ago with my Mamiya RB67 film camera (see bonus pictures).

To accompany this news, I’ve chosen 3 photos of Martina from, arguably, our best shooting together, October 2018 in Brescia.
This sequence was shot with the Leica M240 and the Summicrom-M 50mm.
These photos are standing the test of time, and the newly acquired M10 Monochrom will have a tough time creating more iconic images…

The other 2 photos of Martina are going to appear later today on my regular social media feed and on DA Subscriptions.

Martina is so painfully beautiful here! The book sounds interesting.

Glad to hear that this information was useful, it was an instructive book for me as well, both for the insight on my family, as well as for learning about the quirks of military life. I avoided my National Service in Italy by keeping only my British citizenship, so it has been a real concern also for me...

Thank you for telling us about your brother - I already ordered his book. As a child in the UK, I was terrified of the prospect of National Service - I was enormously relieved when it was discontinued well before I reached that age. I look forward to reading about your brother's experience.
