BlueLine Dispatch Mod Update: What's New in v1.5?
Added 2024-09-05 14:35:04 +0000 UTCHey Patrons,
Thank you for the overwhelming support for the new BlueLine Realistic Dispatch Mod (BRD) We're excited to share some updates headed your way! Been hard at work on version 1.5 and we're making great progress. Hoping for a version 1.5 out to everyone by September 18th
Here's a quick rundown of what you can expect:
Update version 1.1 - I will be pushing out an update in the next few days - This will help with some audio levels for the dispatch to sound a bit better on the ears. Some audio seems too quiet and other audio is too loud - For example the Stop The Ped audio for the Plate Check and Check return system appears to be too loud - If you want a faster fix - then download the new reduced audio here for StopThePed Audio - https://bit.ly/StopThePed-Volume-Reduced-NEW - I will push out better audio levels for the scanner folder soon. Stand by.
Callout Audio?: Taps Mic* Is this thing on? Been hearing you loud and clear about callout packs. Trust me I know! When you mute the old dispatcher, you also mute the callout information. The new v1.5 update will include a complete revamp of the audio that is found in the CRIMES folder. So for example: if a callout comes over you should potentially hear what the callout is about with more details from the new dispatcher. Please note that some callouts will still not play audio about the call description as some callout modders neglect that part of their own coding to trigger an audio file. Well that is unfortunate, they went through all that trouble to code the callout, yet they left out one of the most immersive things and that is to trigger an audio file. Sorry there is no fix for that. That is on the person who made the callout pack.
What about Callout Packs that have their own audio folder? I am hard at work for you guys/gals. I have completed 3 major callout packs so far and working on others. For example "Kuchera Callouts" has 51 callouts, Yes 51. Since the author was kind enough to provide an audio folder ..... umm yes thank you! Now I can focus on those callout files. But I wish I could tell you it is all going peachy, but still some callouts that have their very own audio folder, will not play a callout description. Is this an error on the Callout author's coding? Well, we shall see. I will continue forward though, can't look back now and try and guess what happened to their code in the callout and why the author did not select audio to be played. Must move on!Area announcements: Now you'll hear the exact location of calls, adding to the realism. If you look at your AREAS folder in scanner, you will see 110 files to be exact. Ask me how I know? All modified, yep. Can't just throw a wav file from the old dispatcher in there and hope for the best. Nah, gotta do it right and make sure things are pronounced correctly. You know how hard it is to train AI Voice technology to say "Los Santos" without her giving me a spanish accent? ;) She did sound good saying "Los Santos" in the most latina sounding voice you ever heard, but alas, can't have that blend too well with the other dispatch voice right? So I had to teach her how to say it the Southern way possible "Lose San Tose" ;)
More units responding: We've increased the number of units that respond to calls for a more dynamic experience. Yep added more phrases and units responding for more immersion.
Police Scanner audio in the future?: I am also working on something rather fun for future updates that will include More Radio Chatter plugin. Ever pass by a police car and you hear that old dispatcher? Oh that's right, she is muted ... well maybe version 2.0 will have that feature with the new dispatch mod in the background at police stations and police cars as your driving. Kinda of like a scanner in the distant background ... and speaking of scanners, this leads me to a segway of the Xscanner Plugin.
About the Xscanner Plugin - TLDR version? Can't get it to work, sorry.
But why? - Well the Xscanner plugin (pretty cool plugin actually) allows you to hear LIVE police radio chatter in the background. It feeds off a live radio broadcast typically from Broadcastify.com for more info on how to use broadcastify see this Free Public Video on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/posts/listen-to-live-109925297
Xscanner uses special audio file extensions called xas files. These are hard coded into the mod itself. There is no way possible to mute these files or even add in an alternative for the new dispatch. There is currently no way to reduce audio for just the Streets and locations as well. If Khorio (maker of Xscanner) had that option to turn off the streets and locations, the problem would be solved. I can ask about it and see if he would push an update for Xscanner but it is his own mod and that would be up to him. You could potentially remove those folders about Locations and Streets that contain well over 400+ audio files and move those out to your desktop so that the plugin can't find those files. I had success with this method for about an hour, then got a few crashes from time to time with error message about certain streets/locations. If you decided to use Xscanner, just know that if you leave the audio files there, you will get overlapping dispatch audio with the old dispatcher.
Thanks again for your support! Can't wait to get version 1.5 out to you. Expect a version 1.1 out in the next few days to help with audio levels.
Best,
~Mike
