a bit of a chat about the flip dot plan!
Added 2022-12-12 10:11:22 +0000 UTCsecret santa is coming up so i decided to make something from flip dots to become acquainted with them. also talking about the plan for the big screen and maybe using the existing circuitry but removing the binary counters.

Did you try de-soldering with a solder pot. Maybe make a custom overflow type that de-solders a section at a time. I stumbled on this video of one that with the right shape may do the trick without damaging the components. https://youtu.be/ZV_5tLEbiVo

2022-12-19 17:29:09 +0000 UTCI can imagine you could use it as core memory yes. Issue is it would be hard with the circuitry they are wired to already. But might be possible interesting idea. I am planning on making a core memory delay pedal. Flip dot delay pedal hahaha
