2025-07-08 23:55:12 +0000 UTCAlso, Lego's Ninjago did it better by combining the TCG with the tops, allowing you to change aspects of the tops by playing cards. I imagine Beyblade TCG could have done something similar (perhaps cards that could both be played as a standalone game and have a special set of rules for playing with tops) and gotten much better results.

2025-07-08 18:24:08 +0000 UTCAs someone who actually had to play it in therapy a couple times as a kid, I’m firmly in the anti-Ungame camp. Having a touching true story behind it doesn’t make it any less of a miserable experience to actually sit through, and all the board game format did for me was ensure that I’d be spending the whole time wishing I was playing a better board game. (also good lord am I dreading what the comments on the Youtube version are going to look like)
