This was a healing conversation <:] all of us go through grief in several ways, it has all sorts of peculiarities, yet there is an observable system we can identify throughout the world, the most famous being the stages of grief. Beyond losing a person in our circle, there is the grief of witnessing Gaza, there is the grief of yesterday, in which time has left, and what's left is today. I have been stuck in the grief of losing a relative for nearly 5 years now. At the time, I was a junior in high school. My family's culture is one of quiet individuality. I'm the son of an immigrant mother, and our losses go unspoken. As Tara said, once you lose someone, you find out who the real ones are. Those people weren't, and this is a wound that's still visible on me. I am going to visit his grave for the first time since his funeral, and I am looking forward to it. It is not only the death I grieve, but the friendships of my adolescence. <3
