Poll: Should I move to a shorter release cycle?

Since I started working on Maids and Maidens, my plan always was to have chaptered release. Where each version ends in a certain story point, and in some cases, in a small-cliffhanger. The goal was to make sure each release ends at a point that makes sense from a storytelling perspective. But, that often means new updates taking longer than expected.

There's also many examples, where new small devs find more exposure and support if they release updates that are smaller but more regular.

So I'm thinking about moving into a shorter update schedule (~2 in game days, instead of ~4). Where the updates will be smaller, but more regular.

But that will only happen if the majority of my patrons agree with it. So what do you think? Should I move to a shorter update schedule, or should I stick to the current release format?

4 month period is worst for gathering patrons, but if you don't need patrons you may update once in 6 month or 1 year

more often updates, will be more often in sight of potential patrons, you "release cycle" is works like an advertisement, this is actually your only advertisement, the longer the intervals between updates, the less "advertising", the less often your game appears on thematic sites (like f95zone), the less you will be noticed

0.4 took about 3 months. if I do an update with about half of its content, it will probably take around 45 days.

depends on how long the short updates take compared to the long updates?

Large updates are great because even if they take 2-4 months, they always feel like the amount of playing time is worth the wait.

I wouldn’t mind faster but am ok with slower

True

I do not mind waiting longer for more story, but I agree more people are attracted to quicker releases. So I voted for this because I want more people to support this project.

Shorter more frequent updates will probably bring I'm more people but the longer chaptered releases would be better for a more cohesive story
