E13-Final Release Pushed Back by One Day.

In my last post I shared the release date of today at 5pm.
I'm trying to stay away from setting hard dates but due to me needing to unpause pledges I set what I thought would be a safe date at that time when factoring in the estimated times for the remaining render work.
Well in that post I mentioned unpausing pledges at midnight and just to be transparent that is because around half of my income for the month is from the overnight charges at the very beginning of the month.
When midnight came I felt bad for needing to unpause as I had been relying on that first day for a few months. I've been pausing as much as I can but the main time that has been unpaused has been the beginning of the month and that isn't fair at all even if it is just to support.
So ultimately, I decided to wait until after those were processed to unpause.
And the reason why that is relevant is simply because I've had to spend chunks of the last few days selling some of my stuff to keep my head afloat.
Everything will be fine but lost time is lost time. I've tried to make up the time to still be able to hit today but as it sits right now the remaining bits of render work should be finished late this evening. Then there's just final checks, packaging, and uploading.
I'm not trying to fuck up my sleep again, it just got back on track and I need to keep to a healthier process. I'll either get to the point of packaging or uploading before I go to sleep tonight as those are mostly tasks of waiting while the computer does the work.
If I go to sleep while uploading, the update will likely be in the 10am-2pm range. If I go to sleep while packaging, the update will likely be in the 2pm-5pm range.
I'd also like to clearly state that this is in no way me asking for anyone to up their pledge or anything like that, in fact I'd like to urge against it.
After missing so many dates, I have to be transparent about why I need another day even if it's something I'd usually not share.
Please don't feel any sort of need to support me more just because I put myself in a bad spot. I'll be fine. Also I don't want support for those reasons I want to earn it, if the next however many updates are released in a timely manner and you're enjoying the content, only then should you consider furthering or even just continuing your support.
I'll share which point I made it to in the comments here and on discord before I go to bed.
The dev report on Friday will focus on E14.

I think the failing here and I believe the same for these kind of services is providing time bound updates to begin with. If you lead with "it will be done when it is done" it prevents a lot of the stress of trying to meet a deadline and many people are able to adapt to the fact they may get rendering or character updates but won't get release particulars until the item is uploaded. Ultimately, I believe there is a realistic finite amount of understanding a paying customer may be willing to give while also believing that since it is a live service paying customers can stop being paying customers at any point and move on. There may be failing on both sides.

The tells us a time and date, and that he is unpausing the subs. to turn around and miss his date. with some reason that it was missed we all accept the answer. he gives another time and date and again misses it. then goes radio silent for days. has all of his people talk for him. then jumps back on with barely half of what was promised. Most people here pay for at least 5 or Patreons. Some of those Creators spend 6 months to a year between Uploads. And we accept that cuz the do not promise what they do have. The thing is many people have reached out to this creator to see if they need help with anything but he does not respond. This game was rated in the top 5 best VNs just over a year ago by multiple sites. Now the reviews that are new about it don't talk about the game. They are all about the Creator and how dishonest he is about drop dates. there will always be people to bash things when you develop some for the world to see. But the amount of upset people he has is due to being dishonest. Tell the truth when things happen not trauma dump when people start asking. Yesterday was his late update say it would be out yesterday now a day later no word from him this is a repeat for the last one where we only got less then half. What truly is messed up is this is a great VN that is never going to be finished. I will set here and I will keeping paying my sub. but when he says something and does not follow through I will call it out. That is what happens when you ask for peoples money and do not keep your word. If you paid me to do something for you, and I told you it would take a month and when I finally got it to you six months later with alot of sad stories and puppy eyes you would be mad right?

Thank god I didn't start developing a game, because if this is the types of responses coming from so called Supporters I would be having mental issues myself. I'd rather have someone who works honestly and speaks honestly, if it's genuinely going to take 3 months then it will, don't work more than a regular 9 to 5 would require you to (unless you want to), however if you're going to set deadlines at least be realistic and don't give your supporters false hope. Most seemed to be pretty gracious regarding update/delays in the beginning but it looks like this has been a reoccurring problem. The longer and more reoccurring it is the more people are going to be upset even amongst those who are normally sympathetic. That is true regardless of what the product or service being provided is. It currently isn't uploaded right now, which is two days after the post regarding the delay of one day. I think some ire is probably justified at this point.
