Update
Added 2025-09-06 14:04:53 +0000 UTCHi guys,
I'm sure you're all aware of my recent GPU problem. When I discovered I needed to replace my GPU—which I had purchased with a few months' worth of savings—I felt a mini-heat attack because it's a highly costly item that I might not be able to afford at the moment.
However, my PSU was the culprit, not the GPU, and it was unnoticed since I only recently bought it, thus it was brand new.
What was happening? :
When I tried to render an image, it used to begin iterations from the GPU and then abruptly switch back to the CPU render. Because CPU renders are ten times slower than GPU renders, thus, outputs are delayed. Just so you know, rendering a single scene took roughly four to five hours, and the outcome was not very good because it was noisy/grainy. Due to a PSU malfunction, the GPU was not receiving enough power, thus it went down entirely and reverted to CPU mode. (This is the simplest explanation I can offer you because I found the technician's description to be somewhat confusing.)
To get back to the point, I placed an order for my new PSU, which should arrive the day after tomorrow. After that, we can resume our business as usual.
*Phew!* What a relief...
Thanks,
❤️
