Right for such a great and important character as Aizawa, for this to add as much as it does this late in the game is incredible. Also I do think this works really well as a late flashback since we sort of need Aizawa to seem intimidating and untouchable at first.

2026-03-01 05:09:55 +0000 UTCThat was so tragically beautiful, sigh. I think he was dead pretty much immediately, and my read on it is that Aizawa, with his eye for details, knew this on some level, but was in denial. My main reason for thinking this is that the clouds by the kids are gone once he gets hit. I think there's also something to be said for believing in others helping you believe in yourself, kinda like Mirio and Tamaki? Like, if this person I believe in and admire thinks I got this then there's gotta be something to it, right? I think that's why he was psyching himself up with Shirakumo's voice, even if it was probably not done consciously. I'm still baffled they didn't include this in the main show, I wonder if Horikoshi came up with it, but it had to be cut for time? Or did the Vigilantes author fill in the gap, because if so that was some masterpiece stuff, good lord! I feel bad for the people missing out on this, I don't think you really get the full Aizawa picture without it, such a shame. In the main show, you can sort of tell that he might have a chip on his shoulder, which gets confirmed later, but being told is not the same as experiencing it first hand. And you really miss out on his struggles, both in school and after graduation. From the outside looking in he seems fine, if grumpy, it's only this look into his head that lets you know how lost he really was, and that makes his character so much deeper? It's crazy to think that he's only now coming out of it. I can def see a resemblance between Koichi and Shirakumo too, I guess he's kinda a mix between both him and Aizawa? Sort of directionless and with low self esteem, but also more positive and willing to just go for it? You finally got your cat cafe, congratulations, you've been calling it for a while now.

2026-02-26 20:06:06 +0000 UTCThey did these episodes about Aizawa better than I expected. It just reinforces how important and impactful that scene at Tartarus was with Aizawa, Mic, and Kurogiri. Assuming that the EN VA hadn't read Vigilantes, he performed that scene masterfully. It's a bit of a shame that some people weren't feeling Vigilantes even though they enjoyed the main series. But that monster frog villain thing is quite terrifying, if you really think about it. Being able to stock quirks used against you and being able to release them later at enemies is devastating. And the way in which Aizawa beat it shows that brute force or strength doesn't always grant you victory, but creative ingenuity and the proper mindset can make all the difference. Definitely one of the best episodes of Vigilantes yet.

2026-02-25 02:47:58 +0000 UTCin the manga Shirakumo is just hit on the back of his head by a small piece of rubble which was what killed him with him later getting crushed by a ton rocks, while the anime just decided to have him get crushed by the ton of rocks at the start, crazy how 2 of Aizawa's friends were killed by concrete with Shirkumo here and Midnight getting hit by Mr. compresses marble full of rubble which resulted in her death.

2026-02-25 02:46:57 +0000 UTC(comment from another channel) "I do wish the anime gave His Purple Highness more air time as it was in the manga, because His Purple Highness runs his agency to prioritize saving Civilians first and fight villians secondary. In fact, His Purple Highness doesn't fight villians as his quirk isn't powerful enough. But he took on the roll to fight Garvey (giant frog) to stall for time in hope of the other heroes. From what I remember, His Purple Highness retires after this incident from injuries and Shirakumo death."

2026-02-25 02:44:59 +0000 UTCit would have been so nice if this got an anime adaptation back in season 5 when the whole reveal was going on like how the manga reads were able to get it with the reveal of Kurogiri being Shirakumo came out 2 months after this was in Vigilantes manga.

2026-02-25 02:43:18 +0000 UTCwhen Aizawa takes out Garvey(toad guy) you can see that he actually has a black tongue clearly a sign of early use of trigger also this Episodes animation was amazing definitely my favorite Aizawa fight! also crazy how it looks like Aizawa was homeless right out of school and was sleeping in his iconic bag!

2026-02-25 02:43:00 +0000 UTCcrazy how AFO sent the Garvey(from guy) originally to kill Aizawa, because he was after Erasure. Shirakumo was just a causality and they took him instead for the Nomu. Shirakumo really saved Aizawa from that fate. crazy to think about a world where every Nomu had erasure

2026-02-25 02:42:37 +0000 UTCthis whole arc is really gonna put watching the main series Aizawa and Kurogiri scenes in a sadder context
