WTF are squad patrons, bro i have money, I'll pay you more T.T

That does sound a lot better. Also boiling things in water is an old school way of filling out meals when things are scarce

I think the party is suffering from a lack of culinary knowledge. Hardtack, which is what the hard bread looks like, was really common in WW1 and conflicted around that time because it was a highly stable source of cheap calories, but people almost never ate it as is. Hardtack was so hard that people would use it as a blunt instrument when they lacked a hammer, so instead of chipping teeth, people would soften it by boiling it in water until it became more like porridge or bread soup (like a less tasty Italian pappa al pomodoro). Still bland and sad, but it would not make a non-food-like noise.

Can't remember in what context but a long time ago I mentioned George Washington's cherries. I can't imagine they taste very good but what a side quest that would be

Alex G

I was wondering if it had any connection to the word "shafted"

You could look at Fass's quest by focusing on the action and not the item. He wanted to find Boshaft and taste it. He did that, which means he succeeded in a very difficult task no one else had the perseverance to achieve. He did not waste his time, effort, or energy. He even taught himself to create an entire mine on his own. Yeah, the liquor was terrible, but ultimately (like some connoisseurs), he wanted the experience/knowledge of what it tasted like - and that's what he got with a little help from Frieren. As for Milliarde... It's possible that she was just bored AF and at loose ends. She achieved her goal (bad or good tasting is irrelevant again) too easily, or too quickly. What the heck was she supposed to do with the rest of her insanely long life? She was stuck without a new goal or interest. It's better to choose a life goal that is basically never-ending if you're immortal. Frieren's spell-collecting is a good one because there will always be new spells developed for her to learn (and old ones waiting to be rediscovered). And if she gets really bored, she can go spend 300 years mining to pay off her debts (we think there are more of them scattered around, right?). The cracker-bread is going to be made because these people have very little access to grains/flour, and what they do get is expensive. They have to make it last, which means it can't go bad/stale in a day or two, or have ingredients that will rot quickly/grow mold (like butter/milk/eggs). If you need some filling carbs, then some kind of cracker-bread will be the longest-lasting, easiest to transport, and cheapest option. I don't see anyone in this party wanting to haul around all the stuff needed for "good" bread and baking it themselves every other day. But I guess thanks to Frieren's mining skills, they can demand the good stuff now wherever fine baked goods are sold.

Boshaft is a German word that could be compared to "trolling", when you're acting maliciously but not with intent to actually cause harm beyond distress/annoyance. Milliarde(billion in German) spent her life searching for something that turned out to be garbage. So out of spite she did a little trolling.

You upload these at the perfect time for when I eat dinner. Thank you for doing this just for me. Another great episode as well, especially the second half.
