Yeah in the world of sorcery I totally get why everyone is so on edge, with sorcery the sky’s the limit. Even simple things like drinking water and sleeping are massive risks, what if there is a sorcery that can turn boil water or turn it to poison inside your stomach or someone who invades dreams to kill you. Then there is just the pure power difference, in a last man stand situation irl with weapons and such you could win and still not be the best shot, or well equipped. But in this world some random grade 2 sorcerer that was dragged into the games could run into yuta. Other than Kenjaku with hundreds of years of prep and body stealing, no amount of prep is going to allow you to beat someone of his caliber

2026-02-17 22:33:24 +0000 UTCnice detail that the two split paths are red(lie) and green(truth) we don't see which path Megumi and the woman walk down still showing we don't know if she's telling the truth or not along with Yuji and the guy also walking down a road with us not seeing which path they took and ending with the girl going right and the guy going left.

2026-02-17 13:03:36 +0000 UTCThanks. That's a good one. I think a lot of the best answers to this involve a perspective shift. A lot of it is new, but at the same time none of it is. I don't like disengagement as a strategy. I think there is a way to be interested and to care while also not falling into all the premade trappings around societal issues. It just probably takes more work, but that's ok.

2026-02-17 04:53:34 +0000 UTCLoved your outro talk . I am too curious to ignore the events of the world, but obsession with day to day politics and culture just can't be healthy. What keeps me somewhat level headed, at least most of the time, is a feeling of hope I have that everything will be all right in the end. Or at the very least, everyone ends up at the same place, eventually. Hopefully a solar flare or geomagnetic pole reversal happens before AI takes over the world.

2026-02-17 03:52:42 +0000 UTCAlso the perception of Sukuna is very interesting in the story. Sukuna IS human biologically atleast. But Gojo, curse spirit and sorcerers keep mentioning that he “was” human his perception is more akin to a calamity or bomb instead of a sorcerer. But what’s interesting is that the narrator treats Sukuna as a deity or something divine to quote season 1 “Throughout heaven and earth HE alone is the honored one. Only his pleasures and displeasures exist” this was said by Nanami in the anime because S1 didnt have a narrator. Also when he opened his domain in season 2 the narrator described his domain as a divine feat

2026-02-17 02:33:07 +0000 UTCFinally one of the most anticipated moment adapted. Kenjaku entering dreams. Kannon is the Japanese Buddhist Bodhisattva of compassion and mercy. She guided humans to enlightenment by using a rope and that rope is called Kenjaku. Pretty evident that Kenjaku is also framed as a savior in the episode he’s the rope between life & death and guided people out of the culling games. Not to mention him wearing a Buddhist robe. A cool detail in the episode is that when Kenjaku mentions his son the red hue in the background turns into darkness again. Yuji confirmed to us through a dream that Kenjaku is his mother and Kenjaku also confirmed that Yuji is his son in a dreamlike world as well. “Thank you for getting along with my son” When Kenjaku enters a body the memories of the host flows into his brain. At the end of Shibuya he mentioned that he started to talk a bit like Geto. Since he is Yuji’s mother was that another personality slip? Does he hold any maternal feelings towards Yuji? Lots of questions but one evident thing is that he’s always been watching Yuji. Even the opening frames it with Yuji walking into a black circle with an eye watching. That black circle turned out to be a tube with Kenjaku watching like a science experiment. Megumi telling Yuji “You consumed Sukuna’s finger out of your own will” Another line that is an important part of Yuji’s character. A substantial part of his character is centered around his lack of agency. Things as small as his teacher rewriting his club application in episode 1 or his nickname “Tiger of west junior high” having been established without his knowledge, or him internalizing todo and nanamis lessons. This all ties into shounen main characters being cogs in the framework from a storytelling perspective. Yuji points this out, saying he lives to serve a purpose and then dies. Him being the son of kenjaku also ties into this, as well as him literally being a vessel for Sukuna “The rift between dreams and reality is a curse” it’s interesting where we saw an event like this with Jogo and Sukuna where instead of pitch black it was pitch white. Both times it also seemed like Kenjaku and Sukuna did something out of character Kenjaku thanking Yuji’s old classmate for being friends and Sukuna affirming Jogo’s identity. Another very interesting and important detail in the manga but can’t be translated into the anime. everytime a character recalls past words or especially a persons last words it’s framed in a black box which shows that those words are curses to the people. Cursed energy's connection to death is very well catalogued, the curses you give someone in death is as mechanically legit as it is metaphorically legit, how the person can interpret someone's last words can be a curse. With Mai’s “Destroy everything”, Nanami’s “I leave the rest to you” and Yuji’s grandpa’s “Help people” their curses had very differing aftereffects. Mai's initially powered up Maki but at the expense of her happiness, Wasuke's (Yuji's grandpa) completely ruined Yuji, and the effect of Nanami's have really fluctuated which is why Nanami was very cautious in thinking what last words he should give to Yuji. Todo also tells Yuji back in Shibuya that searching for meaning on a persons death can at times defile them so I assume this what he meant by it. Very very cool and sad how Gojo always asks the person he kills if they have any last words as in cursing him he did this with Toji and Geto. Unfortunate news is that the director for JJK is rumored to leave after Cour 1 is finished, thankfully it’s not due to harassment by fans or getting fired he’s just leaving the Japanese anime industry and going to work in France. He initially quit the Japanese animation industry back in 2019 after only a year of working but he came back because he felt inspired by Gege akutami’s JJK. Then later they gave him a chance to work on his favorite manga JJK. He debuted in JJK S1 episode 17 which was the Maki and Mai episode in the tournament arc. Then he became the director for season 2. He somehow pulled off JJK season 2 in ridiculous time constraints, a anime movie takes 7 months to produce but he made a 23 episode season in that same time frame which is just baffling, im surprised he hasn’t left after that😂. Season 3 part 1 should be his true vision for the story, and it’s been a treat to watch.
