Not sure what is funnier, the Knuckleduster slander at the end or you decimating AfO, omg!!! I think this episode is really interesting in a lot of ways, even though arguably not much happens. Like, the sibling argument is funny, but it's also humanizing Tsukauichi, while posing an interesting question at the same time, good stuff. Just like his awkward friendship with All Might. Or getting a look at what street level hero Eraser was like before he became a teacher. The Scar Face/O'Clock stuff. Koichi's new upgrade, which I love, because it feels totally feasible, I just didn't think that far ahead?! I think you're right, it must be a mental block with him, the ability itself has proven to be super versatile and useful, actually.

2026-02-07 03:35:56 +0000 UTCThe way they handle the evolution of Koichi’s quirk is easily my favorite in all of MHA. It starts out appearing to be pretty simple, but each evolution in his ability feels like a natural expansion of how the quirk is described to work. There’s also the subconscious suppression of his quirk throughout most of his life, mostly due to mother related trauma. At some point, either All Might and Deku talk about how quirks can be reclassified later in life, as the person comes to a better understanding of how it works. The example they showed was something like a water quirk that was initially described as just shooting water from the palms, which was later discovered to actually be pulling moisture from the air and shooting that instead. I could be misremembering the specifics, but that’s kinda the essence of what’s happening with Koichi. He’s only now discovering how his quirk actually works, and is using his newfound experience as the Crawler to apply it.

2026-02-07 03:01:40 +0000 UTCThis is the last episode this week but I'm hoping to be fully caught up by next week (but have to double check that) The debate between them and the show as a whole is pretty fascinating. I think it might be one of those spectrum things that have to be considered together and in balance with each other. Absolute ruleless freedom has obvious problems (and maybe isn't even that free in the way we like freedom), but then YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE RULES also has it's issues and is really tiring (personally). There's also the consideration that there are perhaps higher rules than "law," that would solve the "lower" problem of laws vs lawbreaking. Either way excited to see what they do with it

2026-02-06 04:37:16 +0000 UTCin this episode we got to see some cool details like the cafe is All Might's hero agency called Might Tower. which We never saw it in the main series. The guy with the blonde mustache is the sand hero Snatch. He showed up very briefly at the end of the overhaul arc as the league of villains attacked the police vehicles carrying away overhaul. He was assumedly killed by Mr. Compress trapping the top half of his body along with Dabi's flames. the three karate guys we saw are clearly a reference to Mecha-Godzilla with the debate between Makoto and Tsukauchi I find my self personally leaning towards Tsukauchi's side with the whole thing making me think back to the end of the stain arc in the hospital where the dog chief tells the kids that just because them breaking the law to fight stain went their way doesn't me it was the right thing to do, with this making me Obviously think about if they show leniency towards pop and the crawler than it gives way for the law to be more lax on the subject. is this the last ep your gonna post this week or are you planning to upload anymore?

2026-02-06 04:07:37 +0000 UTCI was wrong about Koichi, I thought at one point it would be a question of "what if your quirk just isn't that broadly useful?" But his is SO broadly useful 😂 Which is great but in a different way than i expected. Tsukaichi and Makoto is one of the dynamics I'm most interested in. It just occurred to me that I was talking to my sister about something related. If we allow for this sort of wiggle room then who gets to decide? Vs. If we do decide, how do we know they're doing the right thing just cause they were chosen. Endless exploration in this sort of thing

2026-02-06 03:21:38 +0000 UTCI can't believe we've already gotten to this point! Koichi finally has offensive/defensive applications of his quirk! If I was to compare him to anybody in the main series, he would be the most similar to Mirio, imo. Because, on paper, both quirks are not that amazing or would be considered tricky or difficult to use. But in practice, once the user has a solid foundation and understanding of their quirk, the skill ceiling for it is limited only to user's imagination and application of it. Koichi's quirk allows him to be very mobile on either the ground, walls, and to a lesser extent the air, he can essentially magnetize himself to both attract and repel on surfaces and projectiles, and now he can fire off shockwave-like attacks from a distance! The variety and creativity from his singular quirk is honestly amazing writing, imo. Keeping in mind, Koichi on the ground is fast enough to keep pace with Ingenium, a speed-based pro hero. So he's got really good qualities from a "stats"perspective. He could be a unit in an RPG that starts with unimpressive stats and skills to begin with, but takes some time and investment to level before becoming an amazing party member. As for what else that happened this episode, Aizawa has found his new hangout spot that he's adopted and found residence within. Tsukauchi is really not a bad guy, but he's very... rigid and stiff on how things need to be done in this current quirk based society. For All Might, he grants him structure and keeps him in line so that he doesn't react based off of emotion and remains professional and unbiased. However, with the case of Makoto, Pop, and Koichi, his rigid strictness is stifling and suffocating due to the lack of being nuanced and sensitive to the context of the situation. Because with Pop specifically, she isn't using her quirk to harm people or exercise justice. She uses it for entertaining people and growing an audience of fans who enjoys her performances. And now that she's under Makoto's watchful eye, she can continue what she's doing legally and take the opportunity to grow into an idol or star. As for our mystery quirk user, I can't refer to him by his actual name yet because it's not known yet. But let's call him Scar for now, because he has a big scar on his face. Anyways, Scar referred to O'Clock as Master, but we didn't see him with him. He had a giant poster of him, but I also noticed that O'Clock's hero outfit seems to be based off the Flash what with the primary red outfit color and the mask covering the top of their head. They also have the similar speed based abilities, but idk if Flash has that drawback like O'Clock and Scar have.
