2026-02-11 05:13:44 +0000 UTCI don't think Fern had considered very clearly what she was asking of Stark. She didn't want to be bored or alone, so she was pushing Stark to...entertain her, basically, or keep her company. She is used to bullying him to get what she wants, let's be honest. She insults him regularly, so it's not like he should be looking for more ways to spend time with her. His calling it a "date" changed everything, which is why she dropped the book and then walked out in a daze. A date is what Fern really wants, but I don't know if she's admitted it to herself fully. I'm sure she's also afraid of how this might change the whole dynamic of the group. On top of that, she has lost everyone she loved but Frieren (who is so close to immortal that Fern doesn't need to worry about her), so opening her heart to a new love has to be scary. She is just starting to understand how much Stark means to her already, and to the party. She's also had more experience of other people by now, so it may be that she's seeing his good points more than she did before. But her attitude when dealing with him is going to need some adjustment, no matter how good-naturedly he takes all the comments about him being a pain in the butt, bad at fishing, and a pervert.

2026-02-04 02:55:55 +0000 UTCThat makes a lot of sense. In just 3 episodes we've already done that twice. I was wondering if that was accidental but makes sense as buildup

2026-02-04 02:52:01 +0000 UTCTo your point of Fern thinking of what she can do for Stark, i think she already has been more considerate of him in her own way. I saw it at first during the lizard battle that Fern seemed unhappy about the idea of using Stark as bait which she usually doesnt have much of a reaction too. I wouldnt be suprised if Fern eventually gets upset at Frieren for treating Stark as a tool more than a teammate even though Frieren clearly doesnt truly mean any harm and simply just trusts Stark implicitly.

2026-02-04 02:48:31 +0000 UTCSecond half of this episode felt like a fever dream. Frieren's meltdown was so hot. The new director for Season Two is just feeding this fandom fanservice, have to respect the grind. Pure clip farming.
