I finally get to return with my translations! Huzzah! So, first we have Schlacht, which means "Battle" or "Conflict". Fitting, I suppose, for the right-hand man of a demon king. Fabel village is aptly named, as surprisingly (or not) Fabel means "Fable", and this is where we first hear the story of the Hero of the South. I don't really have much to say about the following, but I'll translate them anyway: Sanft Forest = Soft/Gentle Forest Graf Dach = Count Roof/Top Schwer Mountains= Difficult Mountains

2026-01-31 00:17:53 +0000 UTCThe best part about the Hero of the South and Schlacht is that to me, they both probably still fought beyond their battle: both could see the future, so their mutual kill must have been part of their plans, a compromise so to speak. But I assume that both will have done their best to plan beyond their death and nudge their people into "good" paths.

2026-01-28 03:24:30 +0000 UTCI love how medieval society in Frieren is portrayed so differently from most media. It is incredibly common that the nobles are made to be cartoonishly evil. Selfish and wrathful. On top of this, the peasants are covered in mud and live in squalor. Whereas with Frieren, the aristocrats have been portrayed so far as noble warriors, fighting for their people, while having unique personality traits and quirks. Also, the peasants, or common people, are happy and live meaningful, safe, prosperous lives. This episode particularly epitomizes the show's positive attitude towards medieval life. I really like the idea of this entire community being collectively united to fight against evil, protecting each other, for the greater good of the city, while being led by the best and most capable among them, Graf Dach’s family.

It was mid, but this episode is absolutely fantastic. Absolutely adored it from beginning to end. Felt just like a Season One episode. We have never been more back.
