I have a lot of associations with it: - shortly after playing it I started dating a hostess (hostess minigame) - a renewed passion for the principles of compound interest (real estate minigame) - An extra layer of enjoyment when I visit Shinjuku and Dotenbori - Another thing I think about all the time that's probably a spoiler

2025-12-29 07:06:51 +0000 UTCI do enjoy the times where the drama aspect is played up a bit, like the super dramatic lighting shift when Lakan switches gears. I also just really like that scene in general though. Completely unrelated, but after putting 20 hours into Yakuza 0 so far, I gotta say I’m hooked. I was already invested early on, but then the first Goro Majima chapters happened and it fully hooked me. I still only just got back to Kiryu after those initial Majima chapters, which really goes to show how much time can be spent on random side stuff and minigames. It even had me learning shogi just to play the ingame version, (I’m still pretty bad though). It’s so over the top and ridiculous, but I’m strangely compelled by the main story as well, especially Majima’s so far. I even, (against my better judgment) decided to buy the rest of the Yakuza games on sale this week. God knows when I’ll get around to them though.
