"Threads of my heart woven back together", too soon, man, Bakugou litterally just got resurrected! I think somber and bittersweet are the best words to describe this direct aftermath epilogue, and I think it feels real because it's uncomfortable. But it's a tightrope, right? It kinda feels like it isn't leaning far enough into either direction it's going for? Like, there's something weird about it to me that the only confirmed casulties are Villains. After the disasterous consequences from the last War Arc it feels like we got off too easy. And I kinda get the intention behind it, we did get that moment with the fighter pilots and All Might about wanting a complete victory, they went in with preparation rather then being blindsided this time, and it's not like there aren't consequences for the Heroes, this episode even highlights a few (Deku, Uraraka, Edgeshot). It's trying to be hopeful as well, and I think it starts to succeed with this episode and the next one, but it feels too unbalanced to truly be a feel-good ending? Idk, I guess I wanted a little more time after this adjustment period to enjoy the victory. We've been through some hard times, I needed a pick-me-up. So I feel a little mixed about the ending/epilogue, it's fitting, I can respect it, but it's not quite what I hoped for, I guess I'll get into it a little more next time. But the Deku/Uraraka moment is poignant and beautiful! Loved it! It's a good expectation subversion too, coz you can tell that something is up, but it's unclear what is going on until it happens, and because the Toga/Uraraka thing happened a while ago it's not fresh in your mind and you're more likely to expect a romantic resolution, it's really well done. My favorite moment of the epilogue phase! And then the after credits moment happens, and it's like "wtf?!", you have like two more chapters, what are you doing, introducing a potential new threat this late in the game? How the hell is that going to be satisfying? Stay tuned for next episode, I guess. ;)

2025-12-27 02:12:32 +0000 UTCAfter last episode's ending, this episode is honestly a breath of fresh air to me. I like that it actually commits to the sad stuff and has the characters mourn what could have been instead of trying to patch stuff up with a happy smiley moment. Spinner and Ochako mourning Shigaraki and Toga despite their peaceful deaths, and Deku not being able to get Spinner out of his mind and comforting Uraraka.

2025-12-25 01:17:31 +0000 UTCI'm really curious about that character haha. They have what I'd consider a generally more masc-leaning design, and for the most part they wear the male U.A uniform with pants, except they have the female tie. The anime gives them a deeper voice in both sub and dub, but obviously there is no voice in the manga, and we never see if they're wearing pants or a skirt there... I wonder if they are the fourth trans character in MHA? Haha

2025-12-24 08:20:54 +0000 UTCTo be fair, the white pupils is a big inconsistent thing in the anime. The manga has both their pupils drawn white pretty consistently throughout the series but in the anime it depends on the animator or director. They started doing the white pupils more last season & this season to finally match up with the manga but it never did end up reaching any kind of consistency in the anime 😅

2025-12-24 05:21:56 +0000 UTCGrateful for the genuinely inspirational commentary. :) I have half a mind to transcribe it and read it regularly. Not to bring things down too many levels all of a sudden, but I just wanted to say that I thought it was pretty interesting how we've come far enough as a society where we now call 🍙 "onigiri" and Uraraka says that her favorite types are takana and pickled plums and we don't think of that as weird. I'm old enough to remember the pokemon episode where Brock brings out "jELly dOnUTs" (https://youtu.be/2K31Hj1Oz1g?si=9ya-Nnd6JIVjp4VB) It's been a journey.

2025-12-24 04:21:31 +0000 UTCI love how consistently portrayed Deku and Uraraka’s feelings have been these last two episodes. Last episode you had the bit right before the Todoroki stuff where the animation even felt a bit different for Uraraka, and Deku immediately notices something is off. This episode especially, both Deku and Uraraka’s eyes are drawn differently, with their pupils being noticeably white, which really adds to the feeling that something is “off”. Then Uraraka’s eyes go back to normal when Deku arrives to comfort her. Some excellent visual storytelling in this one for sure.

2025-12-24 03:35:50 +0000 UTCI do love the tone of MHA’s epilogue because it’s like you said it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, it’s very real and even somber, but still hopeful. Tho I feel I should mention, that even though next episode is the official ending of MHA, it doesn’t adapt the “final” chapter (431) which was released months after the weekly serialization of the manga ended, in the final volume of the manga. but luckily for us they just announced, it is being animated and released on May 2nd next year!!! :)

2025-12-24 02:36:05 +0000 UTCFun fact The pink haired new student who thanked Deku is actually a girl you can tell because in the anime and manga she where’s a female tie with the button near the top I love how Deku repeats in his head the line Ochaco thought when he left ua It’s so sad that because in her fight with toga she got stabbed in the gut and toga had to do a blood transfusion to save her giving her all of her blood, I don’t think anyone could live past that without feeling guilty

2025-12-24 02:34:13 +0000 UTCIn the manga throughout the weeks leading up to this moment, there was a lot of speculation about wether Toga was still alive. This moment proved it otherwise. Horikoshi had tried to come up with different endings for Toga but none of them where she lived felt right to him. So he decided on this outcome with her sacrificing her life to save Ochaco’s, the one person that showed her true kindness.
