Jinshi was just saying that she should let him finish his sentences next time, basically when he wants to tell her he is the moon prince let him finish, I dont understand the Jinshi hate watch, Maomao has no problem with him touching her anymore why you keep saying that?

2026-02-14 16:55:08 +0000 UTCUnrelated to the events of the episode, but i think that it's funny how like 3 or 4 of the episodes have actually started for you in the English dub despite that you've only been watching the sub. Now, related to the episode, I think that because Hongniang is so protective towards Gyokuyo it can come across as a bit overbearing. Not quite helicopter parent, but it's to a point where her intentions, that have good faith and honest concern, get overshadowed by how rigid she can tend to be in her duties. She's seemingly on the exact opposite side of the spectrum for the head ladies in waiting we've currently seen. Fengming attempted to assassinate Lishu, Shin attempted to make Lihua miscarry and sabotage her, Lishu's former head lady in waiting bullied and actively dismissed and undermined her authority as one of the 4 consorts by taking Lishu's keepsake from her late mother. So, while I understand the frustrations you're having with Hongniang, she's rigid and strict, but she's usually quite fair and understanding of both Gyokuyo and the other ladies in waiting in the Jade palace. And like Gaoshun, she's usually acting in the interest and intent of the one she's meant to keep safe from harm and danger. But imo, it dies feel like her heart's in the best place it could be and it doesn't hurt to be cautious in the environment of which our characters exist. And our mystery eunuch? I don't recall them showing scenes regarding them in the manga, but I could have just forgotten. If they did, it was likely intentional.

2025-12-12 15:41:10 +0000 UTCIt really makes you appreciate... Tangentially, I didn't realize that ice appreciation was largely a cultural thing until I started traveling. Ice is not a given when ordering drinks in many places! Whereas the US is ice crazy. About Luomen, there's something about that calmness that I really appreciate in the way you describe it. I think a lot about how to get to the point where I'm not HIDING from the panic / anxiety / negative emotions that I feel around me, while also being insulated enough that I'm not unecessarily affected by it. It looks simple but it's not easy

2025-12-12 04:31:49 +0000 UTCIf you had to send people up into the mountains to chop up some big ice boulders, pack them in sawdust or straw, and then run at full speed back to the capital with them before they melted completely, you'd consider it precious and expensive, too. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the Imperial Capital had a permanent ice-house on the grounds (IRL anyway). If you look at Maomao and Lakan, it's not strange to think that Luomen is also out of the ordinary when it comes to intelligence. A genius, or savant, whose focus is medicine and healing. He was presumably forced to become a eunuch just so he could deliver the Emperor (by C-section, the Empress Dowager and others have told us she was too young to deliver normally and she has the scar). Becoming a eunuch for real has a lot of related effects, like developing "feminine" physical characteristics, losing a lot of aggression, and for some, aging more gracefully. As a doctor, he surely lost patients - that's how life works - and had to accept that he can only do his best in his own way, and only when asked. So he doesn't panic - not just because that would lead to mistakes but also infect those around him with fear, anxiety, and so on. He had to always be the calm in the center of any storm. He was stripped of all standing and reputation thanks to the ungrateful/paranoid old Empress, which means he can't really stand up to anyone or demand anything (unrelated to his current patients). I don't think anyone else could have managed to guide Lakan into a person able to interact with society on any level. I don't think they force all eunuchs to drop trou and show off their scar. A simple pat of the crotch would make it clear if they have a frog or not. So a woman disguising herself as a eunuch might not enjoy being groped a bit on top of her pants, but could pass that kind of exam.

2025-12-12 03:08:19 +0000 UTCAfter watching this episode, I have a theory that Shisui is concubine Loulan. I have four pieces of evidence. 1. They have the same eye color. 2. It was established early on that Loulan was able to radically alter her appearance; even the emperor couldn't recognize her when he knew who he was looking at. Couldn't be too hard to grab a servant's clothes and have a stroll around rear palace without any of the fanfare. 3. In this episode, Shisui conveniently hears about the ice problem right after word gets sent to Loulan, and then she can just skip out on work with no repercussions. Or perhaps she didn't have any work to begin with. 4. Finally, most compelling of all In the bath episode there was a weird moment when Maomao called attention to how Shisui's breasts seemed larger without her clothes, almost like she were trying to hide them. Some might think that was just fan service, like what was in the rest of the episode. But I think all that fanservice was a red herring, all to hide the real clue. Think about it: who likes big breasts? The emperor. Who has big breasts? the emperors' concubines. And who is one of the emperors' concubines? Loulan. I rest my case for now. but i'm shure there will only be more evedence proving me right in the coming epesodes.
