Damn Lihua, who does she think she is being merciful. She just wants to act like she's better than Lady Shin who is clearly the chosen one (because she looks slightly better, presumably). The way Maomao is headed her next role will be "head of medicine development," all rules cast aside in her favor

Her family will probably send her to a strict, isolated nunnery or marry her off to some decrepit old man who lives in the sticks, then forget she ever existed. She'll never be able to mess with anyone in the palace again. No need to kill her, thanks to Lady Lihua's quick thinking and strong right hand, lol. As for Maomao's station, or status, or job... I don't think she has openly done anything other than make some herbal remedies (or aphrodisiacs, lol) of the kind that many people could know about and make themselves at home. Or when it comes to babies, what a midwife would know. Orange-ginger candy to help stay warm at the infamous garden party, horny chocolate drops, and some awful-tasting hangover brew for Lakan - making those isn't claiming the status of a doctor. We see her picking herbs all the time or grinding them, but not privately making anything, until this episode for Ailan's cold. I think she adds the herbs to the stocks in the quack doctor's office. Identifying poisons, illnesses, or giving advice about health and diet are not the same level as mixing up complicated drugs or doing surgeries. She has only done more complicated stuff in the quack doctor's office, under his "supervision" or "at his orders", as a cover. The rash cream for that guy who got the chemical burn from the colored-fire sticks is all we know about, and the quack was present then. For almost everything, they can claim she was just helping as his servant and doing whatever he told her to do. It seems like she should have been aware about the doctor rules, but she has never been treated like a typical servant girl and paid no attention to the rules that didn't apply to her (when she was a laundrymaid to begin with, or pretending to study for the court lady exam), so there can be plenty of things she's unaware of. Her status within the palace is unknown/uncertain. What she does exactly is unknown beyond being Jinshi's "house servant" and being loaned out to Lady Gyokuyo as poison taster, both of which apparently allow her to wander around all day wherever she wants to go.
