Damn I’m late to the party but yea the time jump is insane. I really like the way they imagined a future world with UI, especially with such a big time skip. How drastically different the pace of life and development would be in an uploaded world, and how that compares with the real world that’s running at the same time. I think that it really does make a compelling case of why so many people would choose upload. Honestly if I were living in such circumstances I don’t know if I would be able to resist uploading, which if you had asked me before watching this show I would’ve said I definitely never would. Props to the writers for capturing that so well.

2025-10-24 02:13:10 +0000 UTCI mean yeah I feel like logically with the fact that your existence as an ui will be exponentially longer than as a human and with embodied life quality seemingly being the best it's ever been I don't really get how you'd really be in a hurry to get uploaded. Especially for me I feel like in the way I view life and consciousness you're not uploading for yourself anyways. Your brain gets fried with a laser, you die and then your upload gets to live. I'm not arguing against the sentience of the uploads themselves or them not being able to have all the same experiences as us. But just to me taking all that into account I don't think I would even consider upload as an option until I was facing my absolute certain death since I myself won't truly benefit from it in a direct sense. It could be great for digime though. But he can wait. What would be really mindbendy is if you could scan your brain nondestructively. Imagine interacting with your own ui
