2025-10-24 03:56:57 +0000 UTCLove the line “and God said love thy enemy and I obeyed him and loved myself” powerful stuff there in regards to the ever-present battle of consolidating conflicting self-identities while trying to navigate the world, and I think that approaching those parts of yourself you dislike from a place of love and understanding is the best way to bridge those gaps, mend those parts, and achieve self actualisation. Also yea the next two episodes are crazy lol

2025-10-18 12:48:34 +0000 UTCShould definitely watch Evangelion myself but from what I know of it I'd agree that it just gets more Evangelion from here. Of course this episode finally had that Neil DeGrasse Tyson cameo at the start. I was very surprised by the structure of this season myself when watching it with how they handle the end of the main conflict and then kind of epilogue it for the last two episodes while it's also kind of the same conflict just not with Holstrom involved. I can't imagine the commentary you can come up with for the crazy stuff in the next few episodes. I'd say I'm mixed on it as the conclusion I would have preferred but it's definitely very bold, impressive and well executed. Holstroms room 101 would have been interesting to see but I'd imagine it would be related to what we've already seen. Something in that time span of his father beating his mother and them running away to his girlfriend getting crushed by that truck. There must have been something there that led to his view on human life and its limitations. Probably also some of the god complex could be some form of leadup from becoming a powerful tech billionaire ceo to no longer feel weak and one up his horrible abusive father. Then becoming a digital god is an extension of that. That's probably some of the psychology there. Escaping weakness and the human condition and all that.
