2025-10-09 03:14:27 +0000 UTCThe "reformation" they're talking about is probably referencing the Protestant Reformation. As I understand it, before the Reformation, only scholars and priests had access to the Bible, and they would tell you what the Bible said. However, sometimes the things they taught weren't in the Bible. The Reformation was the spread of the Bible using the printing press. This allowed people to learn and discuss the word of God directly instead of second-hand from the church, breaking their 'monopoly on God'.
