2025-07-25 05:48:23 +0000 UTCIt looks like you got the episode title translation later from the video description, but yeah, 無愛想な薬師 (buaisou-na yakushi) means roughly "a cold-hearted medicine-maker," but the word 'buaisou' literally means that someone does not have thoughts of love. While much of the action is clearly meant to be reminiscent of China, I think the author is including certain details to make sure we know that it's not a literal, historical portrayal of China. For example, the symbol on the flag of the army is just a made up character, and cacao beans are a New World food (from Peru originally), so they would not have been in Asia at all before Columbus when this takes place. Hence why Maomao says that it's from very far West, and South at that. Get it? Very..... very far West? I think of that as just a wink-wink moment to say that this is a "China-inspired" fictional country. The word for "quack doctor" is nice, though. It's yabu-isha, and ironically, 'yabu' means the types of shrubs and weeds that Maomao enjoys collecting.

2025-07-25 03:42:31 +0000 UTCMaybe i shouldnt be saying this but you mentioned something that is pretty much accurate to what happens later, im impressed ngl lol I really enjoy these almost murder mystery type of episodes where Maomao figures out the problem through logic and experience and that makes it really enjoyable. You can jus tell how pationate she is about being an apothecary. Also would you say master Jinji is your least favorite charachter so far? I can only guess based on how uve reacted to him so far xD I mean i see why, bro is invading her personal space i just find their whole interactions really funny.
