That's such a good observation. I just watched the final episode and the students refer to the book again saying that none of them have finished it. That seems like both a joke about how over the top Koro sensei was but also a sly nod to the fact that it's not something that is ever over, it's something to be followed and lived

Not only did Koro-sensei impart, inspire and nurture these kids, but I imagine the author ultimately hoped to do the same for as many kids as they could with this work. Critically examined, you could argue that it is not necessarily the most intricately written, maybe doesn't have an overly abundant layers of complex themes to examine, or copious converging plot-lines that seamlessly tie into one another to explore. But it doesn't have to. All it needs to have is characters and stories that are as colourful as they are compelling, a drive for imparting as much to the audience as koro-sensei has for his students, and as much honesty and integrity to support it. Otherwise, it would fundamentally alienate the audience which it most wants to, and which is most important for the show/manga to reach. Is this show one of my most personally treasured or valued? Not really. Would it have been, had I watched it as a child? Perhaps! Does it (and everyone who worked on the manga and anime by extension) have my utmost respect regardless, for what it tried to achieve and (in my opinion) rather successfully did? Most certainly. I may have learnt most of what koro-sensei had to teach elsewhere, but there are almost certainly many others who hadn't, and it never hurts to revisit the fundamentals. Gratitude only seems appropriate for what our teachers have to give, and to go on with their words at our backs, much like the alumni of Kunugigaoka junior high. Thank you, Koro-sensei, for teaching the kids how to appropriately accept loss when truly inevitable, for letting them have as much time to say your final goodbyes as they could, for helping them grieve, and for lighting the paths for them to move on.

2025-06-26 08:06:31 +0000 UTCThis anime isnt at the top for me personally but man it does have some amazing moments and Kuro Sensei's death was one of them, honestly didnt expect him to be taken out considering how powerful he was. This anime also cares alot about its side charachters and gave them each their moments to shine which i apreciate because alot of shows tend to forget about their cast. And i absolutely love the overall lesson that no matter how low in society you think you are, u can always work hard and strive to turn your life around and this anime doss that beuatifully, Kuro Sensei was an amazing teacher!!

2025-06-25 03:48:25 +0000 UTCevery time I see this episode I get a good way in thinking I wont cry this time and then I hear Nagisa's scream and see him crying after he's gone and I'm a mess. I do think in your own time you should listen to the dub ver of Nagisas scream before Koro-Sensei calms him down and his crying afterwards because man does his dub voice actor sound so primal and gives it his all, it just breaks me hearing it. I'm pretty sure this is the only time Kurasuma calls Koro-sensei by his name
