My Hero Academia: Vigilantes 1x7 Reaction Extended (YT link below)

In MHA Vigilantes 1x7, Makoto/Truth, irrefutable proof that Makoto is a villain: she made me care about education for a few minutes.

This just in, 99% of doctors agree that Pop has a nice butt.

Quirk Law the second biggest industry after the hero industry

I was waiting for this episode coz I knew you'd have a field day with it! I think it's a great one for worldbuilding! Lots of stuff that's fascinating to think about, but got mostly brushed over in the main show, and again Vigilantes shines as supplementary material. Good point about the sports thing, I hadn't thought about that before. No wonder he's a villain, kinda strikes me as the same type as Gentle or maybe Compress, you know, the "get my name know" kinda type? If you can't be a soccer legend, might as well get attention for it some other way. About the quirk usage, I kinda don't think that's a hard rule? Like, they are so integral to society and also personhood, I think you just can't totally prohibit it. We already heard you have to have multiple offenses to be registered as a villain to begin with, and we've seen lots of casual quirk use, I think as long as you don't massively impact/annoy other people you'd be fine? The focus seems to be on missuse.

Makoto's quirk is so interesting because in s7 AFO was talking about how he acquired his lie detector quirk (the one he was threatening to use on Aoyama's family) he said the guy he stole it from was a plain guy but his descendants were much more memorable and that a twist of fate brought one of them to team up with All Might to drive him into a corner. Its a quick scene so its easy to miss he's talking about Tsukauchi there, it's super interesting that his sister has a very similar quirk however hers seems to need physical contact while AFO used his over the phone. I am still curious though if we'll ever get a reveal on Tsukauchi's quirk or if he's just quirkless???

I want more of Makoto cause she brings the heat with the questions! I'm really curious where her character goes as this inquisitive, open minded person in a show with complex questions about morality and heroism

this reminded me of something I wanted to bring upthat I saw on tiktok the blew my mind, during another of the cave scene I cant remember if it was the same one but when AFO is talk to Ayomas mother on the phone and they were talking in code he said he was craving a drink he says "a 40 year Macallan" he means all might since he had OFA for 40 years and when she said "I can have my son bring you a bottle aged 16 years" she's talking about deku here is a link to the tiktok https://www.tiktok.com/@rosetheangstlover/video/7491368482278313222?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Also yeah about the sports i was gonna bring that up as well, Aizawa said that the Olympics had dwindled in popularity when quirks started to appear and that the UA sports festival was the big thing people started to watch I'll put the link in a separate message if you want to just copy it on it's own

I actually came close to choking on my food when Present Mic broke character with the soccer guy. It caught me so off guard lol. On the topic of sports and quirks, I think they addressed this a little bit with the UA Sports Festival. Aizawa explains that it’s basically taken the place of events like the olympics. I honestly couldn’t imagine how to even remotely balance sports in a world with quirks. Some cool tie-ins to the main series with Makoto’s quirk as well. In one of the episodes where All for One is monologuing in a cave, he explains how he got his lie detector quirk. He says he got it from someone a long time ago, but one of their descendants went on to be someone who worked with All Might to “drive him into a corner”. It’s strongly implied he’s referring to our detective Tsukauchi, meaning lie detecting quirks have run in the family for a while.

I wish we got to see more of Tsukauchi in the main show since he is All Might's best friend and this episode makes me wonder what his quirk is after seeing Makoto's quirk I'm pretty sure we never learn what his quirk is in the main show, also when we see her first talking to him she leans on his shoulder while asking her questions and he tells her to stop touching him, showing that she was trying to use her quirk on him, a fun detail to see once you know her quirk, I loved to see this more talk around the world building of the show its what really drew me into my hero in the first place with things like Aizawa's test at the start with athletics in the first season so it's nice to see stuff like the laws and the original place of hero licensing I love how the heroes in America are depicted with a classic western comic book style I like how the only reason Koichi kept his secret identity was because Makoto called him the cruller I hope Makoto comes around to actually becoming friends with Koichi since at the end it shows that she only approached him because she thought he was the crawler and it would be nice for him to have a friend around his age who goes to his school
