Added 2025-05-05 01:30:01 +0000 UTCIn MHA Vigilantes 1x4, Top Runner, meddling REAL FAST when you don't need to is the essence of being a hero! (Koichi fumbles the biggest job prospect of all time).

Though of course I’m mostly talking about surface level appearances, because Allmight has effectively the same motivations, and is himself very humble. Idk though, Tensei really has a charm about him.

It would be easy, for instance, to grow to dislike Allmight in this world (even though he’s actually a great guy) because he’s basically perfect. But Ingenium has an air of humility about him. He’s not a symbol, or the greatest hero ever, he’s the guy who provides comfort by arriving as fast as possible.

2025-05-07 07:23:11 +0000 UTCWhat I really love about this show, aside from the core three, is the chance we get to explore a character like Ingenium, who didn't get much focus in the main show outside of being Iida's brother. Back then, Stain getting him hurt, but I was hurting for Iiida, because I didn't really know this guy. The Aizawa flashback is similar, although the timing there was very different, more simultanous rather than after the fact? But in either case, after Vigilantes, reading MHA again, it hurts for Ingenium and Shirakumo, because I've gotten to know and really like them too, it's no longer just about Iida or Aizawa's feelings for me.

2025-05-05 08:58:45 +0000 UTCIt's nice how consistent the vibe feels with the original show and it feels great to be back in the MHA world. I also think it's great to see some of these characters at a different time in a different light, and the core 3 are nice so far. I'm finding Koichi pretty likeable and also with enough contrast to Deku to present something new. These episodes did a great job of laying the foundation for the characters and knowing MHA I get the sense that there's a lot of cool stuff coming from them so I'm excited

2025-05-05 08:57:50 +0000 UTCWhen I first watched this episode I was confused why the bat quirk guy was so face but after seeing a comment on another Youtube reaction it probably because of the say "like a bat out of hell" so I thought that was a really cool take on a bat quirk because obviously if someone had a bat quirk they would probably fly or use echolocation but using that phrase to use the quirk in a unique way was cool in my opinion

2025-05-05 06:12:07 +0000 UTCAs much as I love Tensei's speech to Koichi about "finding your place" I think the larger reason he had to take back that business card is it would probably be a huge legal nightmare to allow a vigilante "criminal" onto your team of heroes haha. Ingenium as a person might not take issue with it in Koichi's case specifically, but he can't be caught condoning it.

2025-05-05 03:41:44 +0000 UTCI love how quickly Vigilantes picks up and how seamless it feels. There's also the fact that we get somebody like Ingenium in this series and context when we didn't get much from him in the main series. This approach is very much appreciated and shows the nuanced differences from handling criminal activity by the book and by bending the rules. And with some of the heroes being on the more lenient and forgiving side of the actions from our vigilantes compared to some of the more rigid and strict law enforcers that don't allow for that nuanced and specific contexts and situations like this one with the Trigger drug circulation. I know it's still very early in the series, but how is Vigilantes shaping up for you in comparison to MHA itself?

2025-05-05 03:27:21 +0000 UTCIt sounded like him but for some reason I thought there was no way it would be him

2025-05-05 02:43:49 +0000 UTCSo I don’t know if you noticed but since they made no effort to hide it by distorting the voice or anything I’m just gonna go ahead and mention that the person hachisuka is talking to is all for one.
