I completely forgot about this arc and this episode was so touching. Arcs about helicopter parents give me a a lot more perspective and gratitude towards my parents. I understand why the mother was wrong but at the same time I imagine it's hard to not feel a sense of control and ownership over your children when for the first 5-8 years of their life you have to do EVERYTHING for them. And then you have to unlearn this.

2025-05-01 02:40:09 +0000 UTCI love the way that at the beginning of the show Nagisa really comes off as just your average nice kid, you'd never expect he'd be dealing with this kind of thing at home. You can defintely see his moments of low self worth and his talent for reading other people's emotions come through slowly and it all adds up in this episode. I really have to say Nagisa is a super strong kid for dealing with this at home and never really taking it out or venting it out to one of his classmates.
