2025-04-23 16:49:02 +0000 UTCSo I've been thinking about this since the first episode of this season, when Karma said he was "afraid of not being afraid". I've always felt as if what he meant was either phrased or translated "incorrectly" there as it applies here to the Reaper, but with a different meaning than in episode 2x1, i.e.: "I find it extremely unsettling that something so 'logically' and demonstrably dangerous completely flies under my radar and sets of no warning flags what-so-ever". I was thinking of commenting back then, but felt like explaining why I felt so and/or what it meant would have been a bit awkward to explain.

2025-04-23 16:04:18 +0000 UTCI feel like Irene talking about how her blade was dulled by infatuation and the kids getting surprised by the reaper wasn't a coincidence. But I am struggling to pin point the thematic connection. Was their dull blade a lack of suspicion at both Irene disappearance and this strange guy who keeps showing up? Karama has a flashback about being afraid of not feeling fear so that has to be part of it. Anyway food for thought.
