Recommend Re: Zero extras! (through S2)
Added 2025-03-13 14:11:44 +0000 UTCI've been sick this week with Fluronastrep Throat and the pharmacy seems to have prescribed me medicine under the ethos of "well you can't have any symptoms if you're in a sleep-coma" so I'm a little behind on this week's videos but...
I still want to watch some of the Re: Zero extras that are appropriate to watch through the end of season 2. There's been a lot recommended to me but off the top of my head I got...
Echidnut: Greed What If story
Breaktime shorts
If you have any other recommendations, even if you've left them in a comment elsewhere already, please leave them here.I can't say I will watch all of them but will definitely be at least watching Greed What If because, Echidna.
Otherwise I think uploads should be fine, feeling a bit better. Re: Zero season 2 finale coming today!

I think it would be good to watch ALL breaktimes, not just season 2, as long as you menage to find it. Because these explain how to world works, have interactions and dialogues that were in the novel sometimes word by word and...because s2 and 3 Breaktimes a s s u m e w a t c h e r s a l r e a d y k n o w t h e c o n t e n t of p r e v i o u s b r e a k t i m e e p i s o d e s. Actually, anything Echidnut would be fine. His sense of humour is sometimes out of the window (ehem), but you both like Echidna, so you would get along. He never spoils anything, sometimes he just shares theories. He is not as detailed as other Re:zero content creators, but I think it's good - cut content from Re:zero, especially in later season when story gets more complicated (because, you know, they cut a lot in the 1 season so it stops making sense and then it accumulates) - I am not sure if you like Re:zero enough to watch additional hours of podcasts ...^_^' But if you are, be my guest ! :)

2025-03-15 22:11:43 +0000 UTCYeah, they're released in tandem with the episodes and are meant to be watched after each main episode.

2025-03-14 08:17:06 +0000 UTCAwesome that WitchCultTranslation has them, can’t believe I never noticed they complied the Breaktimes over there. That’s super convenient.

2025-03-14 07:44:17 +0000 UTCI'm just gonna pile on with the Break Time shorts. They great. The only concern I have is that they can be hard to get. Season 2 isn't on crunchyroll anymore and Season 3 didn't get licensed at all (so there's no official subs). That said, you can find them all hosted by the Witch Cult Translation (who translate the web novel) here: https://rezerodb.com/break_time. As others have stated, it also included PETIT, which isn't canon and can be skipped if you want. Also mirroring what someone else said, How Re:Zero Season 2 really ends (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdUpQvareJY) by Echidnut is one I think you'll be particularly interested in (due note that this is about cut content. Of which I cannot fathom, is anything less than vitally important for the endgame of Re:Zero (I think it is inevitable that it will be adapted at some point, I just don't know if that's gonna be in 20 years or not)). Additionally, the other IF story summaries by Echidnut (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUCW3xk_fhRnQi3-qfArnd4BBm25PuqU_) are a great watch, and have all future spoiler clearly marked and are presented such that skipping them loses very little. Also the previews for Season 1 have some humorous text (not really related to the actual episodes) written by the KonoSuba author. They're probably not really worth going out of your way to check them out though. I've seen some people recommend cut content videos. But they're gonna be too much of a time investment. If you're interested in cut content, I'd recommend instead to go through the Witch Cult Translation cut content page (https://witchculttranslation.com/cut-content/), which is safe for you to view (they're hidden behind spoiler tags) and they're organized by episode and have a 1-4 importance rating. I think going over the text and discussing it would be a much more reasonable time investment on your end. Honestly, I think just doing Break Time (you could even skip the S1 Break Time if you are pressed for time), and the Echidnut IF summaries and S2 ending video are the most viable, since I think they can be grouped nicely into reasonably lengthed videos. I'm really glad that you're enjoying Re:Zero enough to even consider seeking out extra content. Very few reactors go that far.

2025-03-14 03:45:03 +0000 UTCvery much do recommend the Break-time shorts. each short is tied to a certain episode, so you can watch all of the season 2 ones, but you should watch the season 3 ones after the corresponding episodes

2025-03-14 02:04:38 +0000 UTCIf you wanna watch some videos on the cut content I would suggest echidnuts video on rezero season 2s true ending. It's kinda silly but he does a really good job not spoiling stuff while filling you in on everything that was missed from the anime that will probably be important. Break times would be really fun, though there's actually a break time in season 3 that's like, basically MANDATORY to watch because of how important it is 😭. It's like season 3 episode 5s break time but it feels like a scene that was just cut out of season 3 episode 1s episode, so I would recommend watching it as soon as possible after you finish episode 1 of season 3.

2025-03-13 20:35:55 +0000 UTCI would love the Greed IF! The anime has a lot of cut characterization for Echidna that I find really interesting, and some of that characterization is present in the Greed IF. It also provides valuable insight into her future presence in the story and possibly reveals her true motivations ( I think you would find it interesting heh ).

2025-03-13 20:15:32 +0000 UTCI think the Breaktimes are short enough and relevant enough (at least the ones in Season 2 and 3) that finding translations and watching them is valuable. I think the IF routes are fun watches if you have the time. Cut content might be nice but could be hard to make large reactions around because there's a LOT. But if you wanted to just make a few videos cutting your thoughts there you can watch most of it on your few times or just show the highlights.

2025-03-13 19:59:19 +0000 UTCI would love to see Echidnut and AniNews cut content for Season 2/3 and more what if routes

2025-03-13 17:18:28 +0000 UTCI’d definitely say if he watches any cut content videos, even on his own time, AniNews is the way to go imo. Very to the point and informative.

2025-03-13 17:17:34 +0000 UTCDefinitely recommend AniNews’s cut content videos on Season 2, especially if you’re not planning on reading the novels atm! His videos does a pretty 1:1 job of covering what’s been cut out of the episodes in videos that are on average 15ish minutes, and whose coverage accuracy I only realized after I picked up the novels. He does a great job of explaining any inner monologues and thought processes of characters that were cut, too! It doesn’t seem like he covered Season 1, but that’s about the only downside. 2025-03-13 16:13:17 +0000 UTCHope to see you recover soon! I would 100% recommend to watch echidnut cut content on the episodes, the anime has to cut a lot so you miss out on a LOT of important lore of the world and characters that’s super needed. Even if you don’t post reactions to them, I’d be great to watch

2025-03-13 16:03:47 +0000 UTCTheres also the Re: Petit show that someone mentioned already, it’s actually paired together with Breaktime S1 on crunchyroll, but it’s just non-canon shenanigans so that’s less vital. Would also be funny to see you watch the show Isekai Quartet however many years down the line. It’s a crossover comedy anime between Re: Zero and three other big isekai series, Overlord, Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Konosuba. It’s a fun time, but obv I would recommend watching that only after seeing all four shows.

2025-03-13 15:06:05 +0000 UTCHope you feel better! And yeah, I’d recommend the Breaktime Shorts, as I said already. As for other stuff, I’m sure there will be lots of recs for the IF stories, which are fun, and I’d also imagine there’ll be lots of requests for cut content videos. I don’t have an opinion either way on these tbh, as they both exist outside the bounds of the existing anime content. Some of the cut content has and probably will be reintroduced in certain ways to the anime, while other parts of it will unfortunately never see the light of day, so it’s a double edged sword. Pros and cons. Whatever you end up deciding tho, I’m just glad you’ve decided to engage with some of the extra content that’s available. It’s awesome to see.

2025-03-13 14:59:49 +0000 UTCI 100% think the same. He has a somewhat strange humor but he avoids spoilers and really only goes over the important stuff that was cut from the novels.

2025-03-13 14:31:52 +0000 UTCYeah videos explaining cut content from the anime are amazing. Recommend this aswell because the anime cuts out alot of important stuff from the source material or sometimes even adds stuff that wasnt in the source material.

2025-03-13 14:21:00 +0000 UTCOh no hope you feel better soon!! Take care. I am very excited to see the season finale tonight and cant wait next week for the start of season 3 :D About other recomendations, Rezero Petit is also something u could check out its simular to the breaktime shorts except its not really cannon so watching it loses its purpose a little bit xD its jus some fun shenanigans that can be enjoyed outside the shows cannon. Also there is a video made by Gigguk called "Re:Zero in 8 minutes" Its just a little fun summary video about s1 of rezero. Probably not worth a reaction but its funny none the less, would recommend you watch it on your free time at least. Edit: others commented this aswell, cut content videos are a good watch aswell cuz rezero has alot of cut content.
