I love Rex. Great voice actor.

Perchiq

I don’t get why he was so upset over Darkwing though, he wasn’t super evil he just went crazy after fighting alone when his mentor died

Seth

Mark and Amber broke up less for safety and more because their lifestyles, experiences, and expectations were just totally out of sync and incompatible, despite their feelings. That's less of a problem with Eve since she and Mark have a lot of shared experience and similar life path.

They specifically mentioned those bugs were incredibly strong because they are from an incredibly high-pressure environment. Sure, Mark wasn't super effective against them, but he was still individually better than the other heroes in that situation.

The whole time Eve's fighting, I just constantly think of ways she could just solo the whole thing: - Turn the cocoon atoms into air and free everyone instantly - Turn the air atoms around Doc Seismic's head into lead - Turn the metal atoms of Doc Seismic's bracelets into... air again i guess - Construct big 'ol pink weapons Her powers are so OP but she just flies around and shoots lasers that never do anything :(

It's so weird, Mark in this episode is supposed to be so much stronger than before, but he feels weaker than ever. Like, he really can't just rip through these bugs instantly? And he isn't fast enough to stop Multi-Paul from beating the shit out of Rex? I feel like I've been spoiled by MHA, where the characters consistently feel like they get stronger and *stay* strong

Wolfy Fiorini

Although I agree that he’s being childish it is important to remember that Sinclair nearly murdered his best friend and did unspeakable things to Rick so I at least get why he’s upset.

Oh, sorry I must have gotten the events mixed up, I just wanted to get my question in early since I probably won’t be able to actually sit down and watch this for a bit sadly

Big Fuze

Should probably wait until next episode when they bring up this topic, instead of spoiling it for him here. I hope he’s already seen ep 2.

I am 100% on Cecil's side with this one. I think Mark is being very childish by making himself an exception and ignoring the possibility of reform. You've talked about The Art of War before, and I recently read it. The greatest thing I took away from it was the idea of supreme excellence, to imagine the perfect outcome and do everything you can to achieve it. You most likely never will, but you'll do far better by aiming high than aiming low. Supreme excellence in this case is reform, taking someone who has done great evil and teaching them to instead do good. I feel like this is a bad road for Mark to be travelling down.

Also, that One Punch Man lookin' dude had me rolling when I saw him 🤣

Josh Bowers

I gotta say, I felt so blue-balled when Mark went through that whole training arc just to get his ass kicked by those insects. It didn't feel like his training did anything

Josh Bowers

Yah the fact that he nearly murdered William and scarred Rick for life I understand Marks rage.

M2GZ

Yah that part of mark seemingly losing when he has no reason too is very comic bookey

M2GZ

I am literally talking about this right now with a friend. Personally I don't think I would care at all or even think about it, except that it came right after the training montage, completely stealing it's energy

Alex G

The secrecy would get to me too

The show did an extremely piss-poor job with powerlevels this episode. Mark was lifting the heaviest earthen objects and casually racing to the moon but suddenly has trouble against arthropods. The same bugs that, mind you, when the other heroes got out, they were fending off. The writersseem to specialize solely in the drama and social aspect of the show, and not care about the superhero part of it.

Western culture has settled on what the punitive system is for since a few centuries back. It is for (in no particular order) 1. Removing the person from society and preventing further harm 2. Rehabilitation for eventual reintegration 3. Appeasing the public sentiment of "fairness" (revenge, if you prefer) 4. A scare tactic to prevent criminal activity from happening in the first place. The only thing that's up for debate is which of the four pillars are slightly more or slightly less important than the other, and which should be more lenient if it encroaches on the others' area of influence (Can you put a 86yo criminal in prison for rehabilitation? Should you threaten life incarceration for a misdemeanor? etc)

Arakis

Putting myself in Mark's shoes I kinda get it. Like I'm already risking my life 24/7 not only do you want me to work with murderers who hurt me and my friends you didn't even tell me about it??? But obviously from Cecil and even my own perspective I agree that rehabilitation/redemption is better than jail or even just using their talents while keeping them on a leash. I think it's primarily the secrecy of working with Shadowbat and Dr. Sinclair that pissed off Mark to this degree

Jade

100% he was genuinely impressed with Mark when he refused to even lie about joining Anisa last season he knows that Mark isn't like his dad but because of his position (and past experience with said dad) he just feels that he can't afford to take any chances

Jade

I think mark is justified in saying that the case with angstrom was different from the other two who killed/experimented on others where as mark did it when defending his family and I think that Cecil agrees with that and is more so just saying what he did to manipulate mark so he falls back in line.

Billy Nowosielski

oh man, having read the comics I am so unbelievably excited about this season. and glad you're reacting to it

Jacob Cannon

I don't always agree with Cecil's outlook or actions, but I think he handled this about as well and generously as he could have. There's the issue at hand which is a tough one and then there's the method of its expression, and in the latter I think Mark is pretty clearly in the wrong.

Alex G

Well there's a very important intellectual distinction between them, and that's that I like Twice.

Alex G

Ah big debate here. Should Prison be for punishment or rehabilitation? Mark seems to belive punishment. If he took a second to think or talk it's obvious Ceciel wouldn't let Sinclair or Nightwing just walk the streets at best they live in a govement compound or lab. Not too diffrent from the guardians compound when you think of it. Also Mark literally just broke into the pentagon and starts yelling and slamming cecils desk after what his father did Cecil is giving Mark plenty of chance to leave and talk things over more calmly. Instead Mark is yelling pointing and demanding Cecil to do what he wants now no questions asked. Imo Cecil is 100% in the right to defend himself in this case.

Goodwin during MHA: Strive for the highest ideals; Hawks shouldn’t have killed Twice. Goodwin during Invincible: Hawks was right. 😭😂

Alter Nate

OMG YESS I didn’t think you’d get on it so fast! These 4 episodes that have dropped so far are amazing!
