As much as I enjoyed the family reunion here, this Frankenstein subplot really feels incongruent with the larger premise of a class struggle. The Hextech and Noxian/Black Rose threads feel the same to me. They each feel like their own individual things that don’t really drive the main plot or each other forward, they just kind of happen in parallel. There are a lot of individual standout moments in this show that are executed well, I just have a hard time getting fully invested in the big picture when it feels so disjointed

2024-12-05 05:58:14 +0000 UTCThat's a cool detail. I've been wondering how much of the overall story was planned from the beginning. I'm definitely doing movies, live action or otherwise. In fact I used to, a long time ago 😂 I do have some movies planned, the next of which being Haikyuu. There are a couple of extra challenges with them though which are: - way harder, doing one movie is more than the work of 1 normal week of videos - I've given up on using them for YouTube - I watch a lot of big releases as they come out and have been an avid movie fan my whole life, so selection sometimes feels limited.

2024-12-05 04:29:27 +0000 UTCPiggybacking off the other commentator asking about dune, i've also been mildly wondering as of late what you're thoughts would be over reacting to a select few movies on the rare occasion. Of course the more niche anime/shows is like your bread and butter and so suddenly turning focus to the gajillion blockbusters released every year would probably be pretty jarring, time consuming to sort through, and generally outside the scope of the channel, but with the return to arcane it's reminded me of the spiderverse movies with it's similarly fantastic 3d and 2d blend of animation and i've always been curious if you had seen them yet/would watch them. Here or otherwise. Back to this ep, re-watching the whole show since s2's completion and with the sudden reveal of vander beast, i really like how much they seed/foreshadow future plot threads, themes, character arcs throughout the entire series. I keep catching new things everytime i watch it's that densely packed, and something i only just clocked watching s1e1 was that in vander's introduction scene dealing with new-to-town seedy traders, once they recognize him they outright call him by the infamous title they've heard him called, "the hound of the underground". Just thought that was a neat detail.

2024-12-05 02:13:10 +0000 UTCHaven’t got a chance to watch this yet bc of work but wanted to add a lil supplementary info, vi was at that same prison from ~15-22 and was regularly beaten by the guards there (there’s more graphic descriptions in the supplemental material) - we see that the guards who beat vi are still there in the jinx sevika scenes so even tho Caitlin is the leader of the enforcers she hasn’t rly done much systemic change which is a damn shame. Also to make it worse, in season 1 cait had to sail a boat to the prison but now they have a cart system implying that there’s heaps of people getting arrested.
