Yeeeeeah, and it's also just sort of like... who else could say that line but Jinx?

2024-12-05 06:37:06 +0000 UTCConcepts like justice and moral culpability have always been important themes in Arcane, and I like it for that. Caitlyn is being driven by a desire for revenge/vengeance, and she and many others use words like "justice"... Because of course, revenge/vengeance are negative things, justice is always good though, surely. (being sarcastic here if it's not clear, don't want anyone to read and think otherwise) You're not doing anything wrong if it's for the sake of "justice". I don't think Jinx went into the fight "planning" to die, but yeah she absolutely was ready to do so. What she wasn't ready to do is let Isha (the young girl who started following her around) get hurt trying to intervene. Really beautiful scene that was.

2024-11-28 07:44:03 +0000 UTCi saw an analysis from a streamer about caitlyn that i feel sums it up better than me. he says that normally someone who has experienced a loss like caitlyn would just be told “hey, go home and mourn”. unfortunately, she is in a privileged position and no one tells her no, enabling her worst behaviors. she thinks of killing jinx and suddenly the gun pops up in one hand and her family’s wallet in her other.

2024-11-28 05:42:57 +0000 UTCOne of the saddest and grimest parts on Cait using the ventilation like that, is that it was her mom's legacy, that is what she built. "they deserve to breath" even when Cait was almost killed by Jinx in an explosion. So clouded by hatred that she is not seeing she is staining her mom's legacy trying to avenge her

2024-11-28 05:12:07 +0000 UTCFor sure, in my view Powder / Jinx is responsible for every one of her choices (separating that from blame and not saying there weren't horrible events and situations stacked against her). For me the tragedy of Vii is that she repeatedly comes to crossroads with her sister where there seems to be some hope, and she either gets interrupted or make a choice that deepens the diviside. And there's also the fact that she definitely FEELS like it's all her fault.

2024-11-28 05:10:02 +0000 UTCI find the perspective that so much of this revolves around Vi's choices pretty interesting. I'm compelled to agree in large part, but I also think some people are a little too willing to let Powder off the hook for the pretty blatantly terrible things she's done.

2024-11-28 03:08:49 +0000 UTCOh man, that moment when Vi accuses Jinx of orphaning kids and she's like "Why not? Done it to myself enough" always felt so brutally honest to me. I mean, she's technically responsible for what happened to Vander, and she killed Silco herself, so... A lot for someone to cope with
