2024-11-22 04:48:12 +0000 UTCYou're right, later i was thinking there's no reason to believe the events happened one after another. Who knows what spirit time is.

2024-11-22 04:38:00 +0000 UTCIt's not clear here, but that wasn't a fantasy. Having lost her daughter, she went to a nearby building and danced right off of it. The manga is clearer on this, but- that was her jumping off.

2024-11-22 04:26:48 +0000 UTCSilky's daughter is dead. For one, those loan sharks took her most likely for trafficking to get the money her mom was short on.... not many people come back from that. But also, I don't think Silky and Aira's meeting was not directly after she died. In my opinion, and what I know of Japanese ghosts, I think after Silky died it implies she may have been wandering around as a ghost for a while. Probably still looking for her daughter. But wandering for so long she forgot what she was looking for until Aira reached out to her. And even then confused Aira with her real daughter. So if her daughter was alive after being taken, I think time-wise she would potentially be gone by present time in the story. (And in that case I'm not assuming she lived a full life to 80, but shorter like Silky's given the darker side of the world they lived in.) One last thing that I got from watching the subbed version, is it seems some kids are tapped in to a type of chi and can see spirits and such. But as they get older they lose that connection. Which is why Aira saw Silky as a kid, but not as a teenager. And then picking up Okarun's ball allowed her to tap back into that while she was holding it. So Aira is not magical in the same sense Momo and her grandma are.

2024-11-20 04:59:43 +0000 UTCGenuinely most emotionally devastating episode of anything I’ve seen in a decent minute. I was a fuckin wreck by the time it was over lol

2024-11-20 01:25:38 +0000 UTCYou right. I went back and read that chapter and it just had some panels of the guys rifling through the same envelope of money that she used to buy the dress, but that’s all

2024-11-19 17:55:59 +0000 UTCI think it's less "moral hypocrisy" and more that Youkai operate on a very alien moral framewrok? Like the Fey. For example, I do actually think that Turbo Granny doesn't actually consider the fact that she counted weird to be "cheating". Momo laid out the terms and she abided by them as far as she's concerned. Silky literally talks about becoming "one" with Aira by consuming her, so I don't think she actually realized her consuming Aira would automatically kill her. So it seems more like it was an impulse born out of her obsessive protectiveness of Aira. I do think you are right about Granny's reaction to Silky though. She directly points out that whether Silky can pass on or not isn't something they could really do anything about, since Silky's regrets are something only she can choose to hold on or let go. There might also be a factor of Silky choosing this end for herself? Unlike the other female spirits Granny consoled, Silky is actively choosing to end her life to save Aira's.

2024-11-19 13:12:45 +0000 UTCI’m glad they didn’t do a stupid bit with Ken give CPR to Aira, like “I cAnT gIVe MoUtH tO mOuTh ShEs A pReTtY gIrL aNd MoMo Is RiGhT hErE” *cue wacky sound effect number 4* So many shows do something similar and it pisses me off so much , it’s played like a man and a women can’t interact without some romantic or sexual undertones Ken is nervous because it’s a actual life and death situation and he of course isn’t trained how to do proper CPR

2024-11-19 05:56:06 +0000 UTCFor some reason YouTube didn't automatically tag it. It might be called Digifunk - Grigoryan Music in the dashboards audio library, or at least one of those terms should do it

2024-11-19 02:53:29 +0000 UTCThe character development in this show is outstanding. First with Ken and Momo both individually and as a pair, they felt like real characters very quickly. And now with Aira, I went from disdain to awe and crying. This show is so good, and I'm glad the dub is so good!

2024-11-19 02:53:18 +0000 UTCIt’s interesting to see the coldness of turbo granny. it seems to be a running theme of there being some moral hypocrisy with the yokai, turbo granny with “i hate cheaters” and silky literally eating her “beloved” daughter. My personal opinion, Turbo Granny was said to help girls “rest in peace”, the exact terminology used with Silky. She didn’t know her backstory but i doubt that would have changed her reaction. She has probably seen this happen many times before to girls with horrible lives, so she sees it as business as usual.

2024-11-19 02:49:47 +0000 UTCI binged the manga in like a week so I might not be remembering this correctly, but I'm pretty sure the manga implied that Silky owed money to those guys that broke in, and she was using the money from prostitution to pay them off but took out a little bit to buy her daughter the nice dress. That's why they showed up Someone correct me if I'm wrong tho

2024-11-19 02:40:36 +0000 UTCFrom the time I was like 10 or so till I was 24 I never cried. Partially because i was emotionally distant from everything but, then I had my daughter. Now everything involving kids like that just tears me apart. The sub of that scene is so much worse. but great reaction. Also so when you said all you see is yourself not what she sees it reminded of Rem to Subaru.

2024-11-19 02:08:56 +0000 UTCWelcome to Dandadan, where it makes you laugh at it’s ridiculousness one moment and then destroys you emotionally the next. Silky’s backstory was just first. There will be more. The anime took more of an artistic liberty, but in the manga it’s shown that she leapt from the roof with her last dance… It’s also implied that her daughter was dead… I can’t imagine what fate awaited her after she was taken…
